✨Dope Art. Dope Stories. ✨

This past Saturday Dope Black People had the pleasure of attending a private showing with at . The new exhibit As We Rise: Photography from the Black Atlantic is so DOPE.

Curated from Dr. Kenneth Montague’s personal collection, the show spotlights Black artists of African descent with photographs that beautifully capture the fullness of Blackness. Our community, our identity, our power!

One of the dopest moments was hearing Dr. Montague share how much he loves investing in both new and established artists. He spoke about learning their stories, embracing their passion(s), and celebrating the brilliance behind every piece. His dedication to highlighting the everyday lives of ordinary Black folks is powerful in the most grounded and meaningful way.

I walked through the exhibit smiling, inspired, and feeling all the feels. It felt good to see yourself and many others who came to mind be represented within the photos. This experience is for every age, the exposure is rich, the storytelling is deep, and the space radiates pure dopeness!

Stop by the GRAM and check it out, and bring a friend! 🖤✨
