🎉 We are celebrating Sandra Rodriguez Ramirez and her 9 years with GAAH!

As our K-8 Coordinator at the Cook Library Center, Sandra is a steady and caring presence for our students and families. She builds strong relationships, creates a sense of belonging, and helps make sure everyone who walks through our doors feels welcomed and cared for.

From kindergarten through 8th grade, Sandra supports our young people in their academic and social-emotional journeys and helps make the Cook Library Center a place where they can learn, grow, and thrive.

We are so grateful for Sandra and everything she brings to GAAH and our community. Happy 9 years, Sandra! 💛

🎉 We’re celebrating TWO work anniversaries at GAAH! 🎉

First, we’re celebrating 1 year with Sharon Gonzalez! 💛 Sharon is our Cook Arts Center Program Assistant and an invaluable part of our team. Her GAAH journey is pretty special. She has been a student, Teen Leader, contractor, volunteer, and now staff member!

Sharon brings so much creativity and joy to our work. As an amazing artist, she brings her creativity and ideas into our programs and helps make GAAH a more joyful place to learn and create. Thank you, Sharon, for all that you bring to our team! 🎨✨

We’re also celebrating 2 years with Sarah Fagerman! 🎉 Sarah is our Cook Arts Studio Manager and does an incredible job making sure our programs and studios run successfully. She is an amazing resource for our teaching artists, helping make sure they have what they need to create successful classes.

Sarah is always willing to get creative, problem-solve, and find ways to make our programs a success while making sure our students feel valued and supported. Thank you, Sarah, for everything you do! 💛

We’re so grateful for both of you and the creativity, care, and joy you bring to GAAH. Happy work anniversaries, Sharon and Sarah! 🥳

🌟Staff Spotlight!🌟

We’re celebrating Mica Stillerman-Flores, who was honored by the Michigan League for Public Policy as one of Michigan’s Young Leaders!

Mica was recognized for using her voice and power as a young adult to work toward equity in Michigan. She was also invited to speak on behalf of this year’s Young Leaders at the annual Kids Count in Michigan Champion for Kids Lunch, sharing what it means to work toward equity as a young adult.

At GAAH, we believe young people have the power to shape their communities and create change. We’re proud to see Mica living that out both here at GAAH and across Michigan. 💛

Congratulations, Mica! 🎉
