Every helping hand supports our local farmers and helps bring fresh, nutritious food to our neighbors across the Grand Valley. 💚

FREE cooking workshops are coming to the 7th St Community Cafe with Shiloh! 👩‍🍳💚

Build your kitchen confidence with hands-on learning, cooking demonstrations, and recipes that are budget-friendly and accessible.

🍚 October 26 | 5:30–7:30 p.m.
Meal Prep for Busy Households
Make weeknight meals feel less hectic while learning to prepare egg fried rice.

🥧 November 16 | 4:30–6:30 p.m.
Thanksgiving Remix
Explore creative ways to use Thanksgiving leftovers and practice food safety while making turkey pot pie.

🍪 December 7 | 4–6 p.m.
Holiday Baking
Bring the family to make gingerbread houses and sugar cookies! Ages 7 and up are welcome.

Each FREE workshop includes a full meal or dessert, plus take-home ingredients and recipes to help you recreate what you learned! Bring containers if you’d like to take home any leftovers.

Ages 12 and up are welcome at all workshops; the holiday baking class welcomes ages 7 and up.

🧡 Today is Hunger Action Day! 🧡

And this Hunger Action Month, our community has truly shown what it means to take action.

Throughout September, businesses, organizations, groups, volunteers, and neighbors across the Grand Valley stepped up in BIG ways.

🥫 Community food drives collected thousands of pounds of food to help keep our pantry stocked.

🙌 Volunteer groups rolled up their sleeves and worked alongside us in the warehouse, sorting and preparing food for distribution.

🥕 At the 7th St Community Cafe, volunteers processed excess fresh produce for freezer and pantry support, reducing food waste and extending access to nutritious foods.

🥪 Together, volunteers made more than 100 sandwiches to stock the pantry with ready-to-eat options.

🌱 And through our Harvest Mobile Market, we brought fresh, locally grown produce directly into the community—creating more opportunities for our neighbors to access nutritious food.

This month alone, we have served 3,000 unique neighbors through 4,300 service visits.

We simply cannot do this work without the incredible community members, partners, donors, and volunteers who care deeply about nutritious food access across the Grand Valley.

Hunger Action Day reminds us that every action matters—and when our community takes action together, the impact is incredible. 🧡
