What a great evening in Fruita! Thank you to everyone who came out to our Social Hour at Fruita Tavern to celebrate the start of fall and meet some of the candidates on your November ballot.

It was a fun, family-friendly night, and a great reminder of what civic engagement can look like when neighbors come together to ask questions and connect, no matter their political views.

Thanks to Fruita Tavern for hosting us, and to everyone who took the time to show up and get informed ahead of Election Day!

The top of the ballot gets all the attention, but down-ballot races, county commissioners, school boards, local judges, often have just as much impact on daily life, with far less media coverage to go on.

A good starting point: check the candidate's own campaign website for their stated positions, then search for local news coverage to see how they've talked about the issues outside of campaign messaging. A few minutes of research beats guessing once you're staring at an unfamiliar name on the ballot.
