Looking for a cat disguised as a dog?
Lance is your guy.
This tiny 9lb menace-to-society is around 2–4 years old and has perfected the art of emotional unavailability. Lance isn’t searching for a soulmate — he’s searching for a respectful roommate with snacks, patience, and an understanding that personal space is sacred.
You want constant cuddles? Get a teddy bear.
You want blind loyalty? Buy a Honda.
You want a tiny dog who side-eyes you from across the room, mutters imaginary insults under his breath, and occasionally blesses you with coexistence? Congratulations. You found Lance.
Lance’s hobbies include:
• Pretending he doesn’t know his name
• Accepting affection… then immediately regretting it
• Judging you silently
• Existing like a grumpy little landlord
• Occasionally acting like your best friend when you least expect it
Fun aside — here’s the real Lance:
This little guy had a rough start in life and never properly learned how to communicate or trust people. Before coming to us, he bit his previous foster because he was scared and unsure of the world around him.
Since then, our incredible trainer at Smarty Paws Canine College LLC has been working with him for the past few months, and Lance has made HUGE progress overcoming many obstacles.
He does well with dogs and cats his size, but NO kids for this boy. Lance can become uncomfortable with handling and pets, even when he initially seems okay with them, so he needs someone experienced, patient, and respectful of his boundaries.
He’s also working hard on:
🐾 Crate manners
🐾 House manners
🐾 Not marking indoors
🐾 Learning that humans aren’t so bad after all
Lance is looking for a foster-to-adopt home willing to give him the real chance he deserves. Underneath the sass and spicy attitude is a dog trying very hard to figure life out.
And honestly? Watching him learn to trust is pretty special. ❤️
