USPA Online Code of Conduct
This code applies to all who participate in social media discussion—whether as members, competitors, judges, board of directors’ members, staff members or in any other capacity—on USPA social media pages or other online forums owned or operated by USPA. Membership in USPA and the skydiving community comes with many good things and engagement with the community on socia
l media is one of them. Our culture, our reputation and the atmosphere of our digital communities depend on how every one of us acts, talks and behaves, every day. Therefore, the USPA Social Media Code of Conduct requires members and staff to adhere to respectful behavior, maintain the dignity of others and act with integrity. In USPA online forums:
* Harassment, personal attacks or infliction of any form of mental injury on other members of the organization or anyone participating in the sport is prohibited.
* The fundamental dignity of all individuals by respecting diverse traditions, heritages and experiences must be upheld. Any form of discrimination based on any criteria other than merit and performance is prohibited.
* Users must be honest about their identity and respect the privacy of offline conversations. Breaches of USPA Social Media Code of Ethics
The USPA Communications and Sport Promotion staff, advised by the executive director, will assess any possible breaches of this code and may take action to block or remove the individual from participating in any online activity owned by USPA. This includes but is not limited to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and any other digital property of USPA. Keep moral and ethical standards sky-high.
2. Treat people with dignity and respect, regardless of who they are and where they came from. Stay decent and courteous in all communications.
3. Express opinions but be careful to balance the interests of all groups when you participate in discussions or posts.
