RMR's vision is to expand its area of influence and increase public awareness about the excitement and rewards of model railroading. Today, we operate a 430 sq.

Rappahannock Model Railroaders is an organization started by a group of O-gauge train enthusiasts looking for a place to share their hobby. A suitable location was found and since then, the club has grown in both membership and layout size. foot, O gauge multi level layout, a 50 sq. ft. S gauge and a 32 sq. HO gauge layout and hope to add an N gauge in the near future. The “Lionel look” of the 195

0’s is represented on the O gauge layouts upper level, while the lower level is predominantly true-to-scale. At one time or another, however, you will find trains of all eras and manufacturers represented as club members run their own, as well as RMR owned trains. The upper level trains run on Lionel’s O-gauge Hi-Rail tracks with a Lionel ZW transformer. The lower layout is powered by M.T.H.’s Z-4000 transformer along with the MTH Digital Command System and Train Master Command Control. Switches are thrown by Tortoise switch machines. Gargraves Shadow Rail track is used on the bottom level along with ballasting and roadbed
The members consider themselves ambassadors of “The Greatest Hobby” and work to promote the joy of model railroading in a positive way. We participate in charitable and community functions throughout the year and each December, we host a model Train Show and Sale in Fredericksburg. The club brings Scouting and youth groups in several times each year to watch trains run and teach kids about model railroading.

- Cake walk and popcorn
- VBS craft table for kids
- Live music from the RCUMC praise team
