New cribs alert 🏘️! Burrowing Owls now have artificial burrows at Gillmor Sanctuary! This effort combats the loss of nest burrow sites due to collapse, invasive species encroachment, and habitat loss, which have caused a noticeable decline in the local Burrowing Owl population.

44 million acres of national forests are at risk, and we have less than a month to speak up for them. The Roadless Rule bans industrial logging and most roadbuilding within designated intact areas of our public forests like the Tongass National Forest in Alaska. Many bird species, including Bald Eagles and Western Tanagers, rely on these protected places. Now, the U.S. Forest Service is considering repealing the Roadless Rule. A future with thriving grasslands, healthy foods, and resilient working lands relies on continued engagement and stewardship from young people. Together, Audubon Rockies and Denver-based are helping to make that future possible by educating and empowering young or beginning farmers, ranchers, and conservationists in Colorado. 🌿

To kick off the partnership, Audubon and FrontLine Farming hosted two days of educational programming for participants enrolled in the Black Teen Cultivators program. The group spent time at Majestic View Farm and Audubon Certified-Bird Friendly , learning about field science techniques, habitat management for grassland birds, and the interconnectedness of our food systems.
