Good news for birds in Colorado’s eastern plains! 🥳

Brett Gray Ranch has achieved Audubon's Bird-Friendly Land Certification, recognizing the ranch’s efforts to support grassland birds, biodiversity, and resilient working lands. 💚

For the past 17 years, Round River Resource Management has managed the ranch in collaboration with , working to enhance habitat on the ranch through holistic and regenerative land management.

Spanning nearly 50,000 acres in Colorado, Brett Gray Ranch supports a mosaic of grassland habitat for Chestnut-collared Longspurs and other priority birds in the state’s shortgrass prairie region.

Audubon Rockies is excited to sponsor the premiere of "Grit and Grace" this upcoming Friday at 6 p.m. at Sheridan College!

This documentary highlights four incredible Wyoming women producers and the ways they connect livestock, rangelands, family, and the future of agriculture. We’re excited to celebrate their stories and the important work happening across Wyoming’s working lands.

While most owls are tree-dwellers, Burrowing Owls prefer open, treeless landscapes with short, sparse vegetation. Like many other grassland species, their populations have declined throughout their range due to habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and other factors.

That’s why, at Gillmor Sanctuary, Audubon is addressing local population declines and improving conditions for Burrowing Owls and other wildlife by removing invasive trees and restoring native habitat.

A little bit about them:
✨Fox graduated from Western Colorado University with degrees in both Computer Science and Fine Art but discovered a love for birds through the local Audubon chapter.
✨Monica Nigon is an environmental educator and conservation professional passionate about facilitating connection with and care for the natural world.
