We teamed up with High Plains Scuba and their Make Diving Make a Difference program to clean up Horsetooth Reservoir from the shoreline to the reservoir floor.

In just one hour, this crew removed 45.8 lbs of waste from our local drinking water. 💪

Because protecting the ocean starts upstream with communities that care!

20.7 pounds of trash removed from the Cache la Poudre River watershed! 🌊

Our fall cleanup at Riverbend Ponds was a success thanks to an awesome group of volunteers who spent their Saturday morning giving back to our local waterways!

Every piece of trash removed helps protect wildlife, improve our watershed, and prevent pollution from traveling farther downstream.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and made a difference with us!

Fall River Cleanup 🍂🌊

Join Reef Healers for a fall morning cleaning up the Cache la Poudre River!

Come spend the morning outside, meet fellow Reef Healers, and help remove pollution from our local watershed before it travels farther downstream.

Cleanup supplies will be provided. Just bring water, closed-toed shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing.

What does a river in Northern Colorado have to do with the ocean? A lot more than you might think.

What happens in our watershed does not stay here. The Poudre joins larger rivers that eventually reach the sea. Along the way, anything that washes off our streets, lawns, parking lots, fields, or trails can travel with that water. Once that mix reaches the coast, it does not disappear.

If rivers carry so much of the problem, then rivers can also carry the solution.💙

It's estimated that around 80% of the pollution reaching our oceans starts on land, carried there by rivers, wind, and runoff. That means the choices we make right here in Northern Colorado, along the Poudre, are part of the same story as coral reefs thousands of miles away.

Need some extra inspiration? Here's some advice from the Reef Healers team on how to celebrate World Rivers Day and our river:

💧Join or host a river cleanup and invite a friend.
💧Treat the Poudre like a living being: pack out all trash and secure your gear when tubing or kayaking.
💧Make water-wise choices at home. Cut single use plastics or use fewer chemicals on lawns and gardens.

We've teamed up with for a shoreline + lake floor cleanup at Satanka, Horsetooth Reservoir on September 20th, 8-10AM. Divers get the lake floor, shore crew gets the beach — either way you're pulling junk out of a place you probably love.

Clean water is the foundation of healthy communities, healthy rivers, and healthy oceans.

As inland ocean advocates, we believe protecting water starts right here at home. That means caring about the water flowing through our rivers and watersheds, but it also means making sure our local and neighboring communities have access to safe, clean drinking water.

While Fort Collins is known for its award-winning drinking water, many families in Larimer County mobile home parks are still facing boil water notices, discolored water, persistent odors, and uncertainty about whether their tap water is safe.

That is why we are supporting the Colorado Water Center and Mi Voz as they work to raise $100,000 to get an Epic Water Filter into every mobile home in Larimer County.
The new Mobile Home Water Quality Act is an important step forward, but infrastructure improvements take time. Families need support now.

This Drinking Water Week, help bring clean water to our neighbors.

💧 $25 = one pitcher + one filter
💧 $50 = one pitcher + 3 filters, about a year’s worth of clean water
💧 $500 = a year of clean water for 10 households
