YMCA of the Northern Sky Youth Development | Healthy Living | Social Responsibility
Formed by the merger of Fergus Falls Area YMCA with YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties
(447)

The YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties is a not-for-profit community service organization dedicated to enhancing the spirit, mind and body of all persons through quality leadership, programs, services and facilities. At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Each day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. We focus our work in three key areas that are fundamental to strengthening community: youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Today, we serve nearly 60,000 youth and adults annually through membership, adult fitness programs, child care, summer camp, aquatics and so much more.

Give to the Max Day in MN is Thursday, Nov. 19, but early giving starts NOW!

⛺This year, your gift will help provide YMCA Camp Cormorant scholarships for youth in our community who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend. Financial assistance ensures that every child, regardless of their family's circumstances, can experience the joy, growth, and sense of belonging that camp provides.

➡️Join us this Give to the Max Day by helping send a child to camp. Your support opens the door to life-changing experiences, lasting memories, and opportunities that can make a difference for years to come.

140 years of impact. One incredible community. 💙

What a night! 🎉 We gathered with friends, supporters, volunteers, and community leaders to celebrate 140 years of the YMCA of the Northern Sky — honoring the people, memories, and milestones that have shaped our Y since 1886.

From celebrating our history and recognizing the people who have made a lasting difference to sharing laughter and making new memories, the evening was a powerful reminder of what makes the Y so special: our community.

As we celebrated this milestone, our CEO, Steve Smith, challenged us to look ahead with a shared commitment:
💙 To build a community where everyone is seen, supported, and connected. Where no one faces life's challenges alone, and every child, family, and senior has the resources, relationships, and sense of belonging they need to thrive.

To everyone who celebrated with us, supported our mission, and helped make the evening unforgettable — thank you!
140 years is worth celebrating. And the future we're building together is worth investing in.

Here's to the next chapter! 💙

Remember 140 years ago?

⌛In his latest President’s Blog, YMCA of the Northern Sky President and CEO Steve Smith takes a look back at the last 140 years.

🫶Founded in Fargo 140 years ago to build community, the YMCA continues that mission today with more communities, staff, and ways to serve.

🎉Take a moment to read his latest reflection, “One..Four..Oh!”, and celebrate 140 years of service to our community.

Deanna found strength though the Y. You can help others do the same.

Meet Deanna. After surviving endometrial and skin cancer, Deanna could barely walk, and everyday tasks felt overwhelming. Then, her doctors recommended LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA. 💛

Joining the program changed everything. Deanna not only rebuilt her physical strength, but she also found a community of lifelong friends who supported her through every step of her recovery. Today, she’s back at the Y 2–3 times a week, lifting weights and growing stronger every day. 💪

No one should have to navigate cancer recovery alone. When you give to the Y, you help survivors like Deanna rebuild their strength and reclaim their confidence.

🎃 A little pumpkin guts, a lot of creativity, and priceless smiles!
Our Horace school-age Y Club kids had a blast carving pumpkins recently.
🎃While it definitely made for a wonderfully messy afternoon, projects like this are packed with hands-on learning:
• Sensory Exploration & Tactile Play – Feeling textures and using tools
• Fine Motor Skills & Hand Strength – Scooping, scraping, and carving
• Critical Thinking & Planning – Designing a spooky (or silly!) face
• Confidence & Social-Emotional Growth – Sharing ideas and working together
🎃Want your child to learn, grow, and make great friends after school? Give them an experience they’ll love at the Horace School-Age Y Club!:

A little maintenance and some fresh finishes at the Fergus Falls YMCA are underway beginning today, Monday, October 26! Please pardon the interruptions as work takes place throughout the building. Here's what you can expect:

🏊 Pool: Closed for a filter replacement. Reopening Monday, November 2.

🏀 Gymnasiums: Painting and ceiling work will impact gym availability. Gym 2 and the area between gyms are closed. Pickleball in the large gyms is cancelled, with limited times available in the small gym. Noon Basketball has moved to the small gym.

👟 Upstairs Fitness Center: Currently remains open, but finish updates may impact the area as work progresses. Some construction noise is expected.

While some spaces and activities are temporarily impacted, the Y remains open and we look forward to seeing you! You can also stay active anywhere with on-demand workouts in the My Y app, included with your membership.💙

Thank you for your patience and flexibility! Please visit our website for the latest project updates and schedule changes.
