Sollera

Sollera Sollera offers crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling, and education to all affected by DV/SA.

Sollera provides comprehensive services to victims of domestic/dating violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, trafficking/sexual exploitation and child sexual abuse in eastern North Dakota and west central Minnesota. We are committed to transforming our community’s response to violence and abuse to ensure healing for those who have been victimized and personal safety for all. Sollera was founded in

1977 when two local agencies – WomanAbuse, serving battered women, and the Rape Crisis Center, serving victims of sexual violence – merged to become Rape and Abuse Crisis Center and provide comprehensive, accessible services. In 2026, the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center name was retired and the agency is now Sollera. We are proud to be one of the earliest violence intervention centers in North Dakota and Minnesota.

A huge thank-you to the West Fargo Lions Club for helping us get our prevention education workbooks ready for the new school year!

This incredible group placed name-change stickers on our workbooks. Six boxes and hundreds of stickers later, these books are ready for local classrooms!

We’re so grateful for the many hands that made light work of this big project. Thank you, West Fargo Lions! 💛

We have a pretty special thank-you to share.

When Michelle and Dan got married, they asked for no gifts. Instead, they invited guests to give to a few of their favorite charities, including Sollera. And then Michelle and Dan matched those donations.

Michelle and Dan, thank you. Thank you for thinking of Sollera during such a special time in your lives, and for giving your friends and family a chance to support the community right alongside you.

We hope your wedding day was everything you wanted it to be. We’re so grateful we got to be a small part of the celebration.

Congratulations! ❤️

There’s something special about a gift made by hand.

A big thank you to the team at Goldmark Property Management Crossroads Apartment for making and delivering tie-blankets for the people we serve.

These blankets offer more than warmth. They’re a tangible reminder that people in our community care and are thinking of them.

Thank you for wrapping the people we serve in a little extra care.

Sometimes support is as simple as a flash drive.

We’ve worked with victim-survivors who needed a flash drive to provide materials for court proceedings, and we’d like to have them on hand when that need comes up.

We’re looking for donations of new, unopened USB flash drives to add to our supplies.

If you’d like to help us stock up, you can drop off a new flash drive at Sollera during regular office hours or purchase one through our Amazon Wishlist: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/164ZHV09R6ROJ/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_1

A small, practical item can make one less thing for someone to figure out during an already complicated process.

Thank you for helping us be ready when our community needs us. 💛

Today has been a devastating day for the Hopkins and Burnsville communities and for Minnesota. Through such pain and tragedy it is often difficult to find the words, and at this time there is still so much information we do not yet know and cannot speak to publicly.

Our hearts go out to the many people whose loved ones were taken from them today, and to the children, family members, and witnesses to such violence. Our hearts and gratitude are with the domestic and sexual violence advocacy programs who work tirelessly day in and day out to support victim/survivors.

Since 1989, we have lost at least 886 lives to intimate partner violence and domestic violence in Minnesota. Please remember these lives were not statistics or numbers on a page. They were beautiful, brilliant souls who loved the color pink; fishing; dancing; catering for weddings and holidays; spending time on the lakes; dressing up in leopard print to cheer up their coworkers; and writing kind messages on customers' coffee cups to brighten up their days. They were everything you could possibly dream of and more.

Each and every single life lost to domestic violence is precious.

Domestic violence affects our entire state, from survivors and their loved ones, victims' family members, friends, neighbors, and coworkers, to advocates, medical and emergency personnel, and children's friends and fellow students.

Nowhere in Minnesota is left untouched by domestic violence. This is a public health issue, a public safety issue, and a social justice issue. It requires all of our collective care and compassion to prevent and end.

We believe that it is possible to one day end domestic violence in Minnesota and worldwide. This belief guides and sustains us. It is the power of all of us, together, that will end violence and abuse for good.

The 24/7 Minnesota Day One Hotline is available for individuals looking for support and guidance with domestic and sexual violence:

Call 866.223.1111, text 612.399.9995, or email [email protected]. https://dayoneservices.org/

A list of domestic and sexual violence advocacy programs organized by county in Minnesota can be accessed on our website here: https://www.vfmn.org/find-a-program

At the bottom of our Get Help page, you can find guidance for how to support a loved one experiencing abuse: https://www.vfmn.org/get-help

Some of the most important moments in our work will never be seen.

A conversation that begins with, "I'm not sure if I should even be calling."
An advocate sitting quietly beside someone in an emergency room.
A child discovering that what happened wasn't their fault.
A parent taking the first step toward a safer future.

These moments don't happen because of one program or one event. They happen because our community believes healing should always be within reach.

We're deeply grateful to the Alex Stern Family Foundation for a generous grant. This investment strengthens the work that happens every day, often quietly, always compassionately, and helps ensure we're here when someone needs us.

Thank you for walking beside the people in our community to rely on us.
