Nominations are open for the 2026 Coalition Awards, and we want to hear from you!

Each year, the FM Coalition to End Homelessness recognizes individuals and organizations demonstrating exceptional leadership, service, and advocacy in our shared work to prevent and end homelessness.

Think about the colleagues, community partners, and leaders whose contributions deserve recognition. This is your opportunity to help us celebrate their work!

Award recipients are selected by the Coalition's Board of Directors based on their contributions and commitment to our mission.

Last weekend, YWCA Cass Clay joined our community for First Lutheran Church's Getting it Right in the Call to End Homelessness Event in partnership with the FM Coalition to End Homelessness. It takes all of us to end homelessness and ensure our neighbors feels safe, supported, and can build futures free from violence and full of opportunity.

Tonight at First Lutheran!

Join us for "Getting it Right in the Call to End Homelessness", a free two-day event exploring homelessness in our community and how we can respond with compassion and action.

Tonight - Friday, Oct. 2 | 6:30 p.m.
Viewing of the documentary "Homesick: A Moral Call to Change the Narrative for the Unhoused", followed by a reading and discussion with author Kevin Nye.

Saturday, Oct. 3 | 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Homelessness simulation, panel discussion, keynote by Kevin Nye, community awareness fair & more.

The event is free, open to the public, and no registration is required.

As followers of Christ, we are called to see, love, and care for our neighbors, especially those who are vulnerable and often overlooked. We hope you’ll join us as we learn together and consider how God might be calling us to respond. 🤎

🎆 Holiday Office Closure

In observance of Independence Day, the FM Coalition to End Homelessness office will be closed on Friday, July 3. We will return to normal business hours on Monday, July 6.

As our community celebrates this holiday weekend, we're grateful for the many partners, members, volunteers, and neighbors who work every day to ensure more people have access to something we all deserve: a safe, stable place to call home.

We hope you have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July, and if you're celebrating, we encourage you to take a moment to look out for one another. Building a stronger community starts with caring for our neighbors.

HUD's latest homelessness funding notice has reignited familiar debates across the country about Housing First, recovery, accountability, and public safety.

At the same time, Fargo-Moorhead is entering another local election season. While federal policy influences how communities respond to homelessness, many of the decisions that shape homelessness outcomes are made much closer to home.

In a new article, FM Coalition to End Homelessness Executive Director Chandler Esslinger reflects on a question that has increasingly shaped our work: What determines whether communities can actually reduce homelessness at scale?

The piece explores the role of housing, service capacity, community accountability, and the local decisions that influence what is possible for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
