Thanks to the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce for having us at Member Mingle this morning!

Madison Maides represented our team as she shared more about our new partnership with The Chamber, designed to make workplace giving and employee engagement more accessible for small businesses.

Through the shared campaign, Chamber member businesses with approximately 50 or fewer employees can participate alongside each other without having to build a workplace giving campaign from scratch.

The Chamber provides the campaign structure, while United Way provides the tools, resources, local impact stories and support to help businesses engage their employees and give back.

Big community impact doesn’t require a big company. We’re excited to make it easier for small businesses to be part of it! 💙

As our community’s kids head back to school, we’re reminded of the lasting impact one backpack can have.

This year, we met Devon, who remembers standing in line for a United Way School Supply Drive backpack when he was a middle schooler.

Now, he’s a young adult with a family of his own and a successful career. But he hasn’t forgotten what it felt like to receive that backpack all those years ago.

"The United Way's School Supply Drive and the education it supported truly changed my life. And if sharing my story helps even one kid or parent get the supplies they need, or encourages someone to give, then it's worth it."

His story is a good reminder that the impact of the School Supply Drive doesn’t end when a child walks away with a backpack. Sometimes, it stays with them for years.

Each of the 7,025 backpacks distributed this year represents more than pencils, notebooks and folders. It represents confidence, excitement and the feeling of being prepared for the year ahead.

Applications are now open for the 2027 United Way 35 Under 35 Women’s Leadership Program!

This six-month experience brings together women from across Cass-Clay to grow their leadership skills, build meaningful connections and explore how they can use their leadership to create positive change.

Any woman living or working in Cass or Clay counties who will be 23–35 years old at the start of the program is welcome to apply. You don’t need a leadership title or previous community leadership experience.

Applications are open through September 6.
