F5 Project - Minot hosted its monthly Re-Entry Supper last night. Thank you, Wade for sharing your story!

Last night at our Reentry & Connection Meal, we had the privilege of hearing from Wade Duchaine, who shared a powerful story of family, addiction, criminal justice involvement, and ultimately, redemption.

Wade spoke openly about being involved in the criminal justice system from the age of 13 and how addiction became deeply rooted in his family and his life. But his story didn’t end there.

Today, Wade’s focus is simple but powerful: being a good dad, being a good person, and giving back to the community he once felt lost in through criminal activity and addiction.

His story was a beautiful reminder that reentry is about so much more than coming home. It’s about reconnecting. Rebuilding relationships. Finding purpose. And becoming part of a community again.

Wade did an incredible job reminding us that people are more than their past, and that change is possible when someone is given the opportunity, support, and connection to create something different.

Thank you, Wade, for sharing your story and for reminding us why these conversations matter. ❤️

Your past may be part of your story, but it does not have to be the end of it.

September is Recovery Month 🖤❤️

Meet Gina, Care Coordinator and Peer Support for the Williston an Watford City area.

"I've been thinking a lot about what recovery really means to me.

My story isn't a perfect one. I didn't get sober because life suddenly became easy. I got sober because I knew I couldn't keep living the way I was living.

Then life happened in ways I never could have imagined.

I lost my son, Tyler. I experienced a kind of grief I didn't know a person could survive. And I had a choice to make—would I go back to the things I once used to numb the pain, or would I learn to walk through the pain sober?

By God's grace, I chose to keep walking.

That doesn't mean I've never struggled. I've had hard days. I've questioned things. I've cried. I've wanted to understand why. But today, I don't have to drink to get through those moments.

God has slowly taken the broken pieces of my life and given them purpose.

The woman who once needed someone to believe in her now gets the privilege of sitting beside people who are struggling and saying, “I believe there is more for you.”

That's what recovery means to me.

And every day I get to help someone else find their way forward, I am reminded that God can use even the hardest parts of our story.

My past will always be part of my story. Tyler will always be part of my story. But neither one gets to write the ending.

I'm still here. I'm still sober. I'm still healing. And I'm still going.

If you're struggling today, please know this: your story isn't over. Keep going. ❤️

Our team spent Friday at Prairie Recovery Center for a full day of sharing barriers, successes, and the power of second chances.

Thank you to the Prairie Recovery Center team for having us and for the meaningful work you do every day. Grateful for the conversation and the connection; see you soon!

Recovery isn’t about having every day figured out. It’s about continuing to move forward, one step at a time.

Every step matters. Every conversation matters. And support can make the journey feel a little less heavy.

Recovery is a journey., and you don’t have to walk it alone.

🤝 Building Connections. Strengthening Community. Creating Change.

At F5 Project in Becker County, we know lasting change doesn’t happen alone.

We’re out making connections with community builders, organizations, and local resources to create a strong chain of solidarity behind the individuals putting in the hard work every day to change their lives.

Breaking patterns.
Growing through trauma.
Choosing recovery.
Rebuilding stability.
Creating healthier environments where positive change can take root.

It takes courage to do the work, but it also takes a community willing to stand behind people while they do it.

Every connection we build strengthens the network of support available to our participants and helps create more pathways toward stability, opportunity, and a different future.

Stronger connections. Stronger people. Stronger communities. đź’™

Today at the Becker County Jail, we had the honor of welcoming the creator of our Rooted & Respect Healthy Relationships curriculum to join our group, along with a couple other just as awesome team members ❤️

We’re grateful for every opportunity to share our experiences and have meaningful conversations. If even one person leaves with a little more hope, a new perspective, or the courage to make a different choice, it’s a step toward healthier individuals, stronger families, and safer communities.

Thank you to everyone who continues to invest in second chancesđź’™

Recovery isn’t just about getting sober, it’s about rebuilding a life.

Today, we had the incredible privilege of standing beside one of our participants during the beginning of their child custody journey. When addiction had taken hold, this parent made the incredibly selfless decision to place their child in someone else’s care to ensure they were safe while focusing on recovery.

Since then, they have put in the work every single day. They completed treatment, secured stable housing, found employment, embraced recovery, and never lost sight of the goal of becoming the parent their child deserves.

Today marked the first step toward re-establishing custody and bringing that little one back home.

Our participant specifically asked their F5 Care Coordinator to be there for this milestone; a testament to the relationships built through trust, consistency, and unwavering support. Walking alongside people through life’s hardest moments and celebrating their biggest victories is exactly why we do this work.

Recovery is possible. Families can heal. Hope is real.

We couldn’t be more proud of this participant and everything they have accomplished. Here’s to the next chapter and all that’s still to come. ❤️

✨ Growth is rarely a straight path. To truly appreciate success, we also have to understand loss. ❤️

It’s been a season of change at F5 Project Becker County.

We’ve celebrated:
✨ New referrals
✨ New community connections
✨ A new Healthy Relationships curriculum in the Becker County Jail
✨ New successes
✨ New goals being achieved
✨ New graduates taking the next step in their recovery journey
✨ And we’re excited to welcome a new Peer Support team member!

Welcome to the team, Donna! We’re thrilled to have you with us and look forward to the compassion, experience, and encouragement you’ll bring to those we serve.

At the same time, we’re saying goodbye to someone who has helped lay the foundation for where we are today.

Our Regional Development Coordinator, James, has accepted a new opportunity that is a better fit for his family. While we’ll certainly miss him, we’re grateful for the time, dedication, and heart he poured into this work.

James, thank you for the long days, the countless hours behind a screen, the community connections, the unwavering support, the difficult conversations, the crisis calls, the cold calls that turned into warm handshakes, and the countless moments that often happened behind the scenes. Your commitment to our colleagues, community partners, and the people we serve has left a lasting impact.

We wouldn’t be where we are today without the role you played in helping build this work from the ground up.

Thank you for helping jump-start F5 in Minnesota with us. We wish you and your family nothing but success in this next chapter. You’ll always be part of the story.

Here’s to honoring the people who helped build the mission, celebrating every milestone, and continuing to move forward, together❤️
