Celebrate with us on certifying 30 service dog teams this year. Each year we have a goal of certifying 35 teams, but with cancellations, and dealing with a pandemic, we've had to be flexible as we're sure many of you are familiar with. We are still grateful for this achievement, as it is a significant increase from our 2020 numbers (17 teams).

We are looking forward to what 2022 brings. In this season of giving, please consider donating to PAD. About 93% the donations we receive are from individuals and service organizations (VFW, DAV, American Legion etc.). PAD relies heavily on your support. You have kept us going for the past 10 years and we know we can count on you for years to come. Click on the link to donate https://app.donorview.com/XrxNL

Pssst... Guess what? I did it!! I now have my very own Veteran to take care of. I really like him and I even have a new dog brother to play with.

Thank you all so much for your support as I grew up and learned about being a service dog. I still miss my foster mom and family a bit but life is very good and I am happy to be doing the things I have learned to do.

This is Private Steven William, signing off of training and into my future.

Things are still going great up at the PAD Headquarters. I am gaining confidence and learning a lot. My Mom and boy came and visited me last weekend. I had lots of snuggles for them!! I tried to "take them out" but Mom said I needed to stay and that my forever home would be coming soon! I am looking forward to getting to work and am being a good boy!

Just a little Saturday morning socialization with my friend, Zach, from Lucky Dog. Paula says I am doing well with my training and confidence building.

Hi everyone! I wanted to check in and let you know that I am doing very well up at the Patriot Assistance Dogs headquarters. I am gaining confidence and learning so much with Paula and a few volunteer handlers!

Mom came and visited me yesterday, just like she promised. She climbed right in the kennel with me and we had a great chat and some wonderful snuggles. I was so excited to see her that I completely forgot about my breakfast!

Mom told me how I was being such a good boy and that Paula has been saying some good things about me. She said she missed me so much and got a little sad so I practiced my comfort skills with her. I really didn't want her to leave to I pinned her legs down with my whole body, but it didn't work. She reminded me that my next human would be FOREVER, and that life with her and my foster family had just been one step towards a great life as a service dog. She said she had done everything she could to teach me what I need to know. When she left she told me she loved me very much and that she gives each of us a little piece of her heart when she trains us, and no matter where my future Veteran takes me that she will always be with me. That made me feel a little better. I really want to make Mom proud of me and will keep doing my best!
