Well, we said if we received $1000.00 in donations to the Lakes Area Imagination Library for Give Like Dolly Day on 9/25 we’d match it. We didn’t receive $1000, though….we received $2895.00!!! So we’re gonna go ahead and match that. 🙂

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has given books to thousands of kids from birth to age 5 for 31 years. That includes families in our region.

In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire children to love reading in honor of her dad, who couldn’t read or write.

That idea lives here too. Every month, appropriately 1100 children in Becker County find a book in the mailbox — because of neighbors who fund it, volunteers who run it, and a woman from Sevier County, TN who started it all.

Thank you, Dolly. We will always love you.
