Our next Dog Days of Summer event is........ Paint with your pet!

On June 27th stop by the shelter with your dog for a fun afternoon of painting or pick up a take home kit for your pets to have fun at home!

Don't have a dog or cat? No problem! You can use one of our shelter animals!

You will put your dog's favorite sticky treat (we will be using peanut butter or spray cheese!) on the plastic Ziploc bag. Place the canvas with paint on it inside the bag and seal it. Your pet will then push the paint around on your canvas! If you choose a take home one for your cat, we will send you with catnip to place on there instead of food!

When purchasing a ticket, please note we only have 5 tickets available each hour, so play attention to each time frame you select. Space is limited. If you choose a shelter pet, you can come any time between 12pm-6pm!

We also have a variety of sayings and designs you can choose from that will be cut with a Cricut to stencil on your canvas as well! If you want a quote, make sure to add the quote ticket and we will contact you prior to the event via email to have the quote and design prepared for you the day of.

The judges have voted and they have chosen the three winners for the 2023 Yellowbright Inc Pen & Pet Kids’ Writing and Art contest!

(This year is the first time Yellowbright has had siblings win in their respective categories, but both of the Dunnigan kids entered and won their age categories!)

The winners are:

Hadley Chesley, 6, Perham

Ryan Dunnigan, 9, Audubon

Kinley Dunnigan, 11, Audubon

Hadley is the daughter of Nate and Stacy Chesley. Ryan and Kinley’s parents are O’Mara and Adam Dunnigan.

They will each receive a $25 gift card to Bluebird Books and a gift basket of writing and art supplies!

Today until 2 at the Becker County Museum, kids can stuff a plush toy, color a t-shirt for their new plush friend, and you can bring pets to the Pawcasso event!

Any pet! They even had a chicken there today! 🐓🐓🐓

Your pet can make a painted canvas for you, sure to be a masterpiece! 

Also, don’t miss the incredible DaVinci exhibit that runs until January and the beautiful autumn photo area!
