Generational trauma, the body, and learning to be soft.

As Black women, we live in spaces that mean we will learn to defensive simply because historically we have learned hypervigilance. We can experience a feeling of danger even when sitting in the midst of safety.

When we understand that we are living in a trauma responsive moment that is not needed for the circumstance - or that our sister is - when we can give ourselves grace and we can set boundaries for our own safety from a sister having that moment.

How to retrain your nervous system (practical steps).

Did you know when you figure out your body is dealing with centralized sensitization, it can be REtrained to know the injured tissues have already healed and you are safe?

Dr. Lauren H. Collins gives us some examples. We LOVE this GEM!

Pelvic Floor to Core: Guided Clench-and-Release

As Dr. Lauren H. Collins guides us here, notice how descriptive she helps you become about your body. What areas are you able to make tight? Are there areas you don't feel enough sensitivity in this area to tighten? That means something. Notice it.

As Dr. Collins continues to guide us here, notice there is a DIFFERENCE she teaches us here. You are learning to understand what these body parts feel like during stress AND calm.

When we understand our body's baseline - it's reset, what it feels like at ground zero, no harm - we immediately know when something is attacking us, our bodies, our spirits, our emotions, our minds. That data allows us to make better decisions about care in EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE not just at medical appointments.

Jacobson Relaxation: Feel Clench vs. Release (Feet to Calves

Dr. Lauren H. Collins takes us through this exercise intentionally because it's not enough to try to learn what health or normal feels like for your body if you have nothing to compare it to. She helps us feel what holding stress and tension feels like AND then feel like what it feels like when that is released.

Why?

Because now you have awareness, Beautiful. Now you KNOW what ease feels like and will know the opposite of that is ABnormal, DISease. Learning THAT difference gives us autonomy and the power to self advocate in our healthcare.

Even more importantly, knowing THAT difference equips us for DAILY CARE. When I know exactly how my body responds to and holds tension, I can be proactive in maintaining its DAILY balance and well-being.

Breathe out the chaos — guided exhale to release

Here's where we always start in Sunday Night Reset: stripping off the stress, pressure, worry, and negativity you endured and experienced within the week.

We have strip off the things that will block the positivity from entering. We're led here on how to do that. Repeat this clip as many times as you need to to get rid of that negative weight and energy.

Inhale to pull in peace: guided visualization for balance

We've already stripped off the stress from the week. Now, we're led by to pour into ourselves through intentional breathing what we need our bodies, minds, and spirits to have.

Close your eyes, Sis, and just let yourself be attended to.

Why do I feel pain when I'm healed? Central sensitization.

Has a doctor told you something was completely healed and you continue to experience life-disrupting pain anyway?? Have you felt the pain pause briefly in an injured area only to have it spread to surrounding areas? You're not imagining that happening to you, Sis. It has a name.

Dr. Lauren Collins explains that phenomenon - and tells us how to reverse it.

Imagine Life Without Pelvic Trauma Impact: What Would Be Present?

Sis...we hold so much stress in our reproductive system: our abdomen, our digestive tract, our uterus, our hips...is it any wonder why we have so many stomach issues, constipation, irritable bowels, uncontrollable gas, crisis during labor/delivery/postpartum?

The introduction to tonight's dream space target that Dr. Lauren Collins will lead us into: LET'S GET READY TO IMAGINE. LET'S GET READY TO DREAM...

Rest is Resistance — rest as creative response to grind culture

The Nap Bishop, Tricia Hersey, in her book "Rest is Resistance" gives us the outline to begin to understand why it is crucial for us as Black women to DO LESS. Our Founder, , quotes some of that outline. Let it sink into your Spirit, Beautiful. We do more when we REST.
