We need your support today! 📣

We’re urging you to contact your elected officials to help delay implementation of the 340B Rebate Pilot Program.

The 340B Drug Pricing Program is a lifeline for community health centers (CHCs), enabling them to provide affordable, often free, lifesaving medications to low-income patients with chronic illness. For decades, upfront 340B discounts have helped CHCs stretch scarce resources and reinvest savings into primary care.

On January 1, 2027, HRSA is set to implement a rebate pilot that replaces upfront discounts with full-price purchases and delayed rebates. Delaying the pilot is critical to ensuring community health centers can continue providing medications and services to the patients and communities who rely on them most.

Leaders from community health centers, OCHIN, Epic, and the Iowa PCA recently came together at the Operational Analytics Summit to strengthen how operational analytics and reporting support decision-making across Iowa's health center network.

Through collaborative discussion, the group identified key challenges, aligned on priorities, and began shaping a roadmap to improve reporting, reduce duplication, and support data-informed decisions.

The conversations and partnerships built during the summit will help guide future efforts to strengthen analytics, support informed decision-making, and advance shared priorities across the network.

We were honored to join Crescent Community Health Center, Peoples Community Health Clinic, and Eastern Iowa Health Center in hosting Representative Ashley Hinson (IA-02) for a roundtable discussion at Crescent Community Health Center in Dubuque.

The conversation highlighted the critical role community health centers play in expanding access to contraception, maternal health services, and healthcare in rural communities. Will you need to meet Iowa Medicaid’s new community engagement requirements?

Starting December 1, 2026, individuals enrolled in the Iowa Health and Wellness Plan (Medicaid Expansion, including those on Wellpoint, Molina Healthcare, and Iowa Total Care) will need to show 80 hours per month of work, education, job training, or volunteer activities to keep their Medicaid coverage.

Take a few minutes to see if these new requirements apply to you. If they do, start keeping track of your activities and saving your pay stubs now. Getting prepared early can help you avoid losing your coverage.

You can use Iowa HHS’s virtual assistant to learn if you need to meet the new requirements: https://hhsservices.iowa.gov/apspssp/ssp.portal.
