Iowa Medicaid is changing.

Starting December 1, certain Iowa Health and Wellness Plan members may need to meet new monthly requirements to enroll or keep their coverage.

If you receive Iowa Medicaid:

• Watch your mail for notices from Iowa HHS
• Make sure your contact information is current
• Read and respond to requests for information
• Visit the Iowa HHS website to learn whether the changes apply to you

Together for Health brought 170 members of our community together to celebrate PHC’s 45th anniversary and support access to care across Central Iowa.

With the support of our guests, sponsors, donors and community partners, the event raised more than $65,000 for health care and supportive services.

Help our neighbors stay warm this winter.

PHC’s Homeless Support Services team is collecting cold-weather necessities for adults experiencing homelessness.

Items currently needed:

• Winter coats in adult sizes, especially men’s sizes
• Thermal underwear or long johns in adult sizes
• Winter gloves
• Warm hats

New or gently used items are welcome. Please make sure all donated items are clean and in good condition.

Drop off donations Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m., at:

Medicare Open Enrollment begins today.

From October 15 through December 7, people with Medicare can review and make changes to their health and prescription drug coverage for 2027.

Before choosing a plan:

- Review your medications and health care needs.
- Compare premiums and out-of-pocket costs.
- Confirm that your providers and pharmacies are in the plan’s network.

PHC provides primary care and internal medicine for adults, including support for ongoing and complex health needs. PHC accepts Medicare, but coverage and network participation can vary by plan.

Primary Health Care is hiring a Behavioral Health Practitioner to serve patients in Des Moines, including our Engebretsen and East Side clinics.

Work alongside a team of healthcare professionals to provide therapy and behavioral health support for children, teens, adults, and families.

• Full-time, part-time, or PRN considered
• Hybrid in-person and telehealth work may be considered
• Spanish/English skills and/or experience providing therapy for children strongly preferred
