SNAFU Rescue "Short Noses and Friends United Rescue" We do as much networking as possible with breeders for breeder releases as well. We do our best to assist them with spay/neuter costs as we are able.

SNAFU Rescue is a 501(c)3 charity SNAFU Rescue (Short Noses And Friends United Rescue) is dedicated to raising money to take in dogs from the commercial breeding system (and commercial breeder dog auctions) and raising money for their vet bills. After obtaining the dogs, we network with other rescues to possibly take those dogs in. We also do some fostering, rehabilitation and adoptions from time to time as well! Please like our page! We are based mainly out of the Midwest and have foster homes in many states within the Midwest (IA, NE, MO, KS, SD, MN & IL). All of our foster dog's locations are on our website. We do adopt nationwide (and to Canada) as long as adopters are willing to come and pick up their adopted dogs in person (we do not ship any of our dogs) and if, for any reason, they can not keep one of our grads, for any reason at all, they must be willing and able to return their adopted dog to his/her original foster home.

SNAFU Rescue currently has 8 amazing pups looking for their forever homes, and honestly, we cannot figure out why some of these sweet faces don’t have a single application yet! 🥹❤️

Each one of these dogs has so much love, personality, and companionship to give. They’re just waiting for that special person or family to see what we see in them.

📍 All 8 dogs are located in the Midwest, and adopters must be willing to pick up their new family member directly from their foster location.

To help ensure a safe and healthy environment for our rescue dogs, resident animals must:
• Be altered
• Be up to date on core vaccinations
• Have an annual heartworm test
• Be maintained on year-round heartworm prevention

Meet Enzo — a 1-year-old French Bulldog in Plattsmouth, NE who is adorable, affectionate, playful, and VERY opinionated! 😂🐾📣

Enzo is one of those Frenchies who always has something to say — and he has absolutely no problem making sure you hear it! He’s a happy, people-loving boy who is still figuring out this whole “pet life” thing. He’s curious, goofy, social and full of personality, but he’s also still learning how to slow down, settle in and understand what’s expected of him.

Enzo will thrive with a family who can provide patience, consistency, structure and gentle leadership while he continues learning how to be the very best Frenchie he can be. ❤️

❤️ Loves people and attention
👧 Wonderful with children ages 2–10
🐶 Loves playing with other dogs
🏡 A canine companion may be especially beneficial
📣 VERY vocal when he has an opinion
🦴 Prefers chewing bones and wrestling with his dog friends

Enzo absolutely LOVES his people and has been wonderful with children. He’s friendly, social and enthusiastic, and he’s done beautifully with every dog he has met so far. Having another dog in the home may be especially helpful for Enzo because he seems to really enjoy the companionship and confidence that comes with having a furry friend nearby. 🐶❤️

Enzo is a sweet, spirited, affectionate young Frenchie who is still learning the ropes, but he has SO much potential. Give this handsome boy structure, companionship, patience and plenty of love, and he’ll reward you with endless personality, hilarious antics, enthusiastic opinions and a whole lot of Frenchie love. ❤️🐾

🐾Today is National Black Dog Day.🐾

And today is about the dogs who can be too easy to scroll past.

There’s even a name for it: Black Dog Syndrome — the idea that black and dark-colored dogs may be overlooked in shelters and rescues, sometimes because they don’t stand out as easily in photos or catch someone’s eye as quickly.

But take a second look.

The shiny black coat.
The soulful eyes.
The brindle you only notice when the light hits just right.
The little gray hairs that eventually show up around a well-loved face.

Black dogs are beautiful.

And underneath that dark coat is the same goofy, snorty, cuddly dog waiting for someone to see them.

So today, we’re giving our dark-colored dogs the spotlight. 🖤

Meet Mini — a 1-year-old French Bulldog in Wichita, KS who is sweet, laid-back, affectionate and just the right amount of sassy! 💕🐾

Mini is a surprisingly chill young Frenchie who would much rather hang out beside her people with her favorite Benebone than be on the go all day. She enjoys some playtime and may chase a ball, but she’s happiest relaxing close to her family. 🥰

🐾 Sweet, affectionate & easygoing
🦴 LOVES her Benebone
🐶 Gets along well with other dogs
❤️ Loves being right beside her people
🏡 Happy to relax and be part of the family
🎾 Playful when the mood strikes, but not overly energetic
🧠 Needs continued guidance with being possessive of her spot beside her person when another dog approaches

Mini does NOT resource guard food, treats or toys. Her only area of concern is wanting to keep her special spot next to her person all to herself. Her future family should be comfortable providing calm, consistent leadership and helping her learn that sharing her people is perfectly okay. ❤️

Mini is a sweet, easygoing little Frenchie who wants to be loved, included and close to her people. If your idea of the perfect Frenchie is one who will happily curl up beside you with a Benebone and occasionally add a little sass to your day, Mini may be your girl! 💕🐾

Bella loves having fun, but she’s equally happy to curl up on the couch and snooze. And when it’s playtime, her favorite ball is ALWAYS involved! 🎾😂

Picasso does have a history of IVDD. He experienced an episode that was successfully managed with rest, and he made a full recovery. ❤️ Importantly, he never lost mobility or bladder control. ❤️ SNAFU Rescue is now accepting applications for Freddy! ❤️

Meet Freddy — a 6-year-old French Bulldog in Lincoln, NE who is basically the definition of sweet, chill and ridiculously lovable. 🥰🐾

This handsome boy is happiest wherever his people are — preferably close enough for cuddles, belly rubs and a few little paw taps when he feels he’s being overlooked. 😂❤️

Freddy has recently completed his heartworm treatment and is FINALLY getting to enjoy more of the fun things he’s been missing! His playful side is coming out, and he LOVES bones, toys and anything that involves hanging out with his favorite people or furry friends.

🐾 Sweet, affectionate & incredibly chill
❤️ LOVES his people and attention
🐶 Loves dogs — big, small, male or female
🐱 Great around cats and completely uninterested in bothering them
🦴 Loves bones & chewing
🧸 Stuffie destroyer — supervision required! 😂
👧 Has had limited experience with children; could potentially do well with respectful, supervised kids
🚶‍♂️ Gets SO excited about his harness and leash and is ready for more adventures!
🏡 Could live with another dog or be your one-and-only if his people are home frequently

Because Freddy has spent much of his recent life undergoing medical treatment, he’ll need to gradually build up his activity and endurance as directed by his veterinary team. His future family should also understand the special care Frenchies need, including avoiding heat, humidity and overexertion and maintaining a healthy weight.

But most importantly… Freddy is just a really, really good boy. ❤️

He’s a cuddle bug, dog-loving companion, food enthusiast, bone chewer, stuffie destroyer and professional people-shadow. 😂 He’s ready to finally enjoy the life he’s been waiting for — with a family who will love him, include him and let him be the goofy, affectionate Frenchie he was meant to be. 🐾❤️
