Last week, IowaBio, proudly represented by Government Affairs Committee Chair Joe Hrdlicka of Genentech, and Ryan Donnelly, Senior Associate Director, Government Affairs & Public Policy for Boehringer Ingelheim, along with Executive Director Jessica Hyland, participated in the 2026 BIO Fly-in, alongside many of our CSBA colleagues from across the country.

BIO provided political and policy briefings, and then we hit the ground running, speaking with the Iowa delegation at each of their six offices. We touched on issues like animal vaccines, MFN and drug pricing, year-round E15 and 45z tax credit extension. Our group also thanked each office for their help in passing the SBIR/STTR reauthorization, which President Trump signed into law on April 13--a special thank you to Senator Joni Ernst for her leadership on this issue. A huge thank you goes out to our attendees for representing us on Capitol Hill!

We have some exciting news to share! BioConnect Iowa and IowaBio have reached an agreement to share leadership through a joint service arrangement.

Jessica Hyland, who has served as Executive Director of IowaBio since January 2019, will now lead BioConnect, alongside IowaBio.

"The childhood vaccines that we give are really important for a number of reasons.
