2LIV4 The founder and CEO of 2LIV4 knows firsthand what it is to face physical and cognitive challenges.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to empower the disability community to discover their something 2LIV4 by providing scholarships for adaptive adventures & equipment. Greg Cooley was a red-headed, freckle-faced 13-year-old who did backflips and captured tadpoles with his bare hands at every water hole in the neighborhood until a car accident sheared his brain stem and caused a basal skull fracture. He spent several months in a coma followed by rehab to relearn the most basic skills, like how to breathe, crawl, eat, walk, and even talk again. Through support, courage, resilience, and fortitude, Greg graduated from Metropolitan State University in Denver and went on to have a 20-year career in the oil and gas industry. Despite his disabilities, he continues to live life to the fullest and feels like he always has something 2LIV4. His adventures have included skiing, skydiving, scuba diving, rock climbing, and kayaking. He is dedicated to helping others with physical and cognitive challenges live life to the fullest.

The first time I wrote about Sam Durst and Ryan Grassley, they had already been on many adventures with their Extreme Motus all-terrain wheelchair.

Sam has cerebral palsy and seeing the joy these adventures bring to his face — how can you not want the same for others?

I remember hearing about the goal Ryan had to get these in national parks, and when I learned that it was finally a reality, I had to reach out again and hear more about their journey.

Thanks to a donor through a nonprofit organization called 2Live4 and support of the Zion Forever Project, Zion National Park is the first national park in the nation to have a wheelchair that it owns and maintains, and that people can check out at its visitor center.

“What we’re trying to do is make the outdoors more accessible,” Grassley said.

We love helping parks and organizations become more accessible so families of all abilities can experience the outdoors together. We are proud to see the Extreme Motus all-terrain wheelchair donated by 2LIV4 helping make Zion National Park’s trails more accessible.
If your park or organization wants to remove barriers and expand access to outdoor adventure, we would love to help. Together, we can make sure more people have Something 2LIV4.

We’re excited to announce the launch of a new all-terrain wheelchair lending program designed to expand trail access for visitors with disabilities, mobility challenges, or injuries. Thanks to the generous support of the Zion Forever Project, Zion now has an Extreme Motus all-terrain wheelchair available for free check-out!

Visitors interested in the program can come to the Zion Canyon Visitor Center to rent the Extreme Motus for the day. The chair is available on a first-come, first-served basis; we don’t take reservations.

For more information about the program, visit our website at go.nps.gov/motus
