🌲 Protecting Colorado's forests. Building Colorado's workforce.
We're excited to partner with the Colorado State Land Board on a new Colorado Strategic Wildfire Action Program .swap (COSWAP) project in Black Forest, El Paso County.
Beginning this summer, a Mile High Youth Corps crew will help reduce wildfire risk by thinning densely packed ponderosa pine stands, removing ladder fuels, improving forest health, and creating safer conditions for surrounding communities.
This project not only helps protect Colorado's landscapes and communities from catastrophic wildfire, but it also provides hands-on training, leadership development, and paid work experience for young adults pursuing careers in conservation and natural resource management.
Thank you to the Colorado State Land Board and our partners for investing in both healthy forests and the next generation of environmental stewards.
