Pride is a celebration of identity, community, and the freedom to live authentically. 🏳️🌈 It's also a reminder that feeling seen, supported, and connected can have a profound impact on our health and well-being.
In Colorado, only 42% of LGBTQ+ adults report good mental health, compared to 74.8% of heterosexual, cisgender adults. Behind that gap are real experiences of discrimination, isolation, and barriers to support.
The power of affirmation, connection, and belonging to support well-being—both individually and collectively—cannot be overstated. Whether it's a supportive family member, a trusted friend, an affirming workplace, an inclusive school, or a welcoming community, belonging allows people to thrive.
This Pride Month, we're celebrating LGBTQ+ Coloradans and the many people, relationships, and communities that help make belonging possible.
Take Pride in Action! Practice showing up with authenticity and helping others feel safe to do the same. Find resources and support at www.mentalhealthcolorado.org/resources.
