Did you know that, according to the CDC, only about 20% of children with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders receive care from a specialized mental health provider? Often this is due to lack of providers in the community, high costs, lack of insurance, and stigma.
Here at New Treks, we believe that every student deserves access to quality mental health services. We also believe the same about access to nature and that being outside engaging in recreation can have a meaningful impact on a students mental health. That’s why we’re working hard to create programming that allows students in Denver who often don’t have consistent access to either of these resources to get outside.
This World Mental Health Day, we hope that you get to spend some time outside, whether it’s at the park, in your backyard, or even in the mountains! And visit the link in our bio to learn more about how you can donate and help students in Denver get access to our programs!
