Thanks to our DA alumni, faculty, and staff who attended last week's DA Class of 2016 Ten-Year Reunion! It was a great kickoff to Homecoming Week. The alums loved seeing the new spaces (Louise McCabe Performing Arts Center & James E. Loan Athletic Center), telling stories about the old ones, and looking for evidence on campus that those stories happened. Alums Emma (formerly Hansen) ('16) and Andrew Tryc ('15) even brought their new baby, Cooper, along for the ride! Your child solves a hard math problem in seconds but shuts down over a reading task. The contradiction does not mean something is wrong with them.

Twice-exceptional kids are gifted and also live with a learning difference like dyslexia or ADHD. Their gifts hide their struggles, and their struggles hide their gifts.

Reluctant writing, perfectionism that ends in shutdown, boredom that reads as defiance: each sign means little on its own. Together they point to a child who deserves a much closer look.

A HUGE congrats to DA's amazing High School Boys Golf Team (Jack B., Luc S., Teddy P., and Wes P.) and its coaches (Tom White, Jack Mestas, and DA alum Blake Petersen).

This week, at the 2A Boys Golf State Championships in Pueblo, Colo., the DA Golf Team placed 8th overall! In addition, individual DA golfer Jack B. placed 7th overall and was the No. 1 freshman and No. 1 finisher from the Mile High League.

Homecoming Week is in full swing!

Today, the DA Athletics Department and the DA Parent Association teamed up to host the Athletics Fall Festival for our 2nd through 8th graders.

Thank you to all of our high school, parent, and grandparent volunteers who ran activity stations and helped with set up and clean up. We couldn't have done it without you!
