This Mother’s Day, we honor the woman who inspired a life of purpose.

Bill Daniels called his mother his greatest hero, and the values she taught him became the foundation for a life of integrity, generosity, and character. Those lessons stayed with him and guided how he lived and gave back. They continue to live on through his legacy.

We are saddened by the passing of Ted Turner, a visionary who changed media forever.

As pioneers in cable television, Ted Turner and Bill Daniels partnered to help launch CNN, the world’s first 24-hour news channel, paving the way for modern news programming as we know it today. Their entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to think differently helped transform communications and expand access to information for millions of people.

We extend our condolences to Ted Turner’s family and friends.

The 2026 National Ethics Case Competition brought together top student teams from across the country to navigate complex business and ethical challenges in real time.

At the national finals in Washington, D.C., five finalist teams advanced to the championship round, and vied for a $250,000 prize pool, where their solutions were evaluated by leaders in business, ethics, and public policy.

Congratulations to this year’s winning teams:
First Place: Cornell University
Second Place: New Mexico State University
Third Place: University of Denver

The Daniels Fund is proud to be the Founding Partner of the National Ethics Case Competition as it continues to equip the next generation of leaders with the tools to make principled decisions in a free-market economy.
