CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK 2025
We are back in the park, and ready to welcome our guests on Christmas Day, and look forward to seeing you, our wonderful volunteers as well.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
1. Our permit DOES NOT ALLOW FOR FOOD SERVICE. That means NO FOOD CAN BE SERVED WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF OUR PERMIT.
Anyone bringing food to give away will be invited to set up at a different location to hand out their goodies.
2. Only PERMITTED TABLES will be allowed to set up in our Permit Area. Anyone bringing their own table of items to give away, will be invited to set that table up outside of our Permitted Area. Tables will be set up at 10:00am.

DONATED ITEMS TABLES
(all areas will have tables set up by 10:00am on Christmas Day to begin taking in donated items)
Please understand that AfterHours Denver is a church without a building, so sadly we are not able to take donated items to hold and take to Christmas in the Park. You can reach out to the individuals captaining these tables to see if they have that capacity, but the beauty of Christmas in the Park is coming down on Christmas Day and sharing these gifts directly with individuals who can use them

VOLUNTEERS for this. We know that some of our Christmas guests will have mobility issues, and this team walks with those folks to help them navigate the tables to find items they need.

*COMMON QUESTIONS*
What about Hand Warmers?
- hand and feet warmers are vital, and we hope that each of the above tables will have boxes of these items to offer to everyone that comes to their table.
What about Children's items or Pet items.
- we will not have an area for these items. Please donate them to a service provider of your choice.

VOLUNTEERS
Yes please!
We need lots of smiling faces on Christmas morning. With tables being set up by 10:00am, we will need hands to help unload cars and get donated items to the appropriate tables as shown above.
You can each out to Jim Francis for more information.

We are getting emails asking how to volunteer...

We would love to have you, your families, your friends, join us on Christmas morning.
We ask volunteers to meet at the park, at 14th and Broadway, at 10am. Cars will be driving up to unload items to give away, and we'll need volunteers to help unload, carry items to the correct tables, and help sort the items.
We start the line at 11:45, for folks with mobility issues, then the madness starts at 12. That is when we need lots of help welcoming our guests, helping them fund what they need, and just doing whatever is needed to create a happy day for everyone.
Then of course we have cleanup to do when it's all done.

AND THEN, we have an AfterAfterHoursChristmasInThePark party at Don's Mixed Drinks on 6th Ave. It's a potluck, so bring something to share if you want.

COFFEE.... HOT CHOCOLATE
if you are bringing warm drinks for the folks we will host on Christmas morning, you are welcome to arrive at 10:30 or 11:00 to start serving.

12/26/2023

AfterHours Denver sets up a market where people without homes can shop for essentials, at no cost.

We are a week away

REMINDERS
- only permitted tables allowed at AfterHours Denver - Christmas In The Park, and NO FOOD IS PERMITTED to be served in the park.

- volunteers can start showing up at 10:30am (the line starts at 12noon), that is when table captains will begin showing up and will need help setting everything up.

- do we need more help? Even if we already have 700 people, do we need 701? The more the merrier, it is Christmas after all. And if all you do is smile and wish someone a Merry Christmas, someone who 364 days a year gets ignored, gets treated as inhuman, you have GIVEN.

- please pick up trash AND TAKE IT WITH YOU. AfterHours Denver is a church without a building, so we have no dumpsters to take trash to.

- THERE WILL BE A PORT-O-POTTY, usually at the SE corner of 14th and Broadway

LASTLY
LINCOLN PARK is located at the corner of 14th and Broadway in Downtown Denver. It is also known as Veteran's Memorial Park, and Liberty Park. We use the name that is on the permit from the state; also engraved in a brick in the walkway.

SO many wonderful stories from CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK 2022. Please share your photos, videos and stories with us.

There were about 270 of you giving your time on Christmas Day to create a unique experience for folks living in need. Life saving supplies were part of the equation. But almost 400 guests saw a smile on your face when they usually see scorn; heard Merry Christmas when they usually hear Get Away.

THANK YOU FOR THAT!

Here is a video featuring one of our partner groups. They have taken on collecting more than just backpacks, but rolling suitcases as well, and what a difference these make.
