In one week our campers will be enjoying Carnival Night at Camp Connect! It's one of our favorite activities and often times the first carnival our sibling campers have ever attended! Our matching donation campaign is ending on Sunday. Please consider making a donation that will be matched 100% and help us offset the costs for camp. We have more programming to do this year!!

Camp Connect begins June 1.

In just a matter of days, siblings impacted by foster care will arrive at camp to reconnect, laugh, build memories, and simply get to be kids together.

There is something incredibly powerful about watching
siblings find each other again.
To watch walls come down.
To watch friendships form.
To watch kids feel safe enough to just be themselves.

This work is about connection, belonging, and community.

And right now, every donation is being doubled through our matching campaign as we work to finish strong before camp begins.

Thank you to everyone who has already donated, shared, encouraged, and supported this work. It truly takes a community to make Camp Connect possible.

A message from our Founder and Executive Director Stacey Sanders

It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that I share that we have lost one of our young adult participants to su***de. Matthias Barron joined our Elevating Connections family last summer and he quickly became a regular presence at our events. Matt was looking for community, connection, and a place to belong. Matt wanted very much to be part of a community that accepted him for who he was. He never really had that growing up.

Matt was a gifted writer and he summoned up a great deal of courage to share a beautiful piece of spoken word at our annual Poetry Jam in October of 2025.

One of the hopes that we have for the young people we serve is that they will make connections at our events that will continue outside of Elevating Connections. As I made phone calls to each of the young people he knew I quickly discovered that he indeed had made strong connections outside of our events. It is my hope that Matt knew he was valued, loved, and seen. He belonged.

For reasons we may never know, Matt made the decision to end his life on April 23, 2025. What I do know is that the ripple effect of his life will carry on through the people whose hearts he touched and the lives he impacted. Matthias Barron will not be forgotten
by anyone who knew him.

Matt will be remembered and honored as his community comes together to support each other and to celebrate Matt. All are welcome.

Rest well, Matt.

From our Founder and Executive Director, Stacey

As I was getting ready for camp yesterday, I found myself looking back through photos from Camp Connect 2024. I stopped working for a while and just sat with them.

The laughter at the lake. Kids splashing each other. Siblings teasing each other, fighting, making up, helping each other try something new. Sitting together at meals all day long. Just being together.

And it hit me again that camp is not really about the activities.

It’s about the fact that for five days, siblings impacted by foster care get to simply be kids together.

For many of the youth we serve, time together is limited. Interrupted. Complicated. But at Camp Connect, they get uninterrupted time to laugh, connect, build memories, and strengthen relationships that deserve every chance to survive and grow.

Five years from now, they may not remember every activity we planned. But they will remember how it felt to be together. Connected. Safe. Seen. Loved.

And honestly, camp changes the adults too.

Every year, our volunteers leave camp talking about how meaningful the experience was for them. They come expecting to give something to the kids, and they leave realizing they received something too.

We are now just two weeks away from camp, and two weeks away from the end of our matching campaign.

We still need additional volunteers and continued community support to help make camp and year-round programming possible.

This work has always been about connection and community. One of the greatest joys of my life is watching these kids come together every year at camp. Watching siblings reconnect. Watching kids laugh freely and simply get to be children.

I am deeply grateful that we get to do this once again.

And every sibling who comes to camp, I carry with me.

Because every story matters, and every sibling deserves the chance to stay connected.

For many of the youth we serve, time together is limited. Interrupted. Complicated. But at Camp Connect, they get uninterrupted time to laugh, connect, build memories, and strengthen relationships that deserve every chance to survive and grow.

Five years from now, ten years from now, twenty years from now, they may not remember every activity we planned. But they will remember how it felt to be together. They will remember feeling connected. Safe. Seen. Loved.

And honestly, camp changes the adults too.

Every year, our volunteers leave camp talking about how meaningful the experience was for them. They come expecting to give something to the kids, and they leave realizing they received something too. They witness resilience, joy, connection, and the incredible bond siblings carry even through incredibly hard circumstances.

There is something powerful about watching kids finally get the chance to just be together.

We are now just two weeks away from camp, and two weeks away from the end of our matching campaign.

We still need additional volunteers to help make camp possible, and we still need our community’s support to help us reach our match so we can continue programming for youth and siblings throughout the year.

The kids are ready. Camp is ready. We just need a few more people to say yes.

This work has always been about connection and community. One of the greatest joys of my life is watching these kids come together every year at camp. Watching walls come down. Watching siblings reconnect. Watching kids laugh freely and simply get to be children.

If you have supported us, volunteered, shared our mission, donated, or encouraged us along the way, thank you. Truly. You are part of these memories too.

Because every story matters, and every sibling deserves the chance to stay connected.

Every Story Matters.

For siblings separated in foster care, camp means time together.
Right now, some are still waiting.
You can change that.
