There is something special about watching an empty space slowly become a Toy Shop.

At first, it is calendars, phone calls, funding goals, community partnerships, and a growing list of things that still need to happen. Then boxes begin arriving. Volunteers step in. Tables start filling. And eventually, a space that looked nothing like Christmas becomes somewhere families can make holiday memories together.

That transformation takes months.

Starting now gives Kenzi's Causes time to prepare thoughtfully, identify what is still needed, and make sure each Colorado community we serve is ready when families arrive.

October birthdays are here and we are celebrating every single one.

Through our Kenzi's Kidz program, we get to show up for children across the Denver metro area and Colorado who might otherwise go without. We show up with a birthday box, a card, and the simple but powerful message that someone in their community thought about them today.

Some of these kids have been with us for years. We have watched them grow from little ones into young people with big personalities and even bigger futures. We know their names. We know what makes them light up. And we show up for them not just in October, but every single month of the year.

Happy birthday to our October Kenzi's Kidz. You are so loved, so seen, and so worth celebrating.

There is no single definition of a valuable supporter.

Some of our volunteers give their time. Some donors quietly give every month. Business partners bring entire teams. Community members introduce us to people we never would have reached on our own.

Even sharing our story matters.

Sometimes saying yes means finding a way forward even when resources are low.

It means continuing to grow when more families need support. It means looking for another partner, another donor, another grant, and another opportunity to reach a child who deserves to feel included in the experiences that make childhood special.

That’s what makes every message from a family and every smile we get to witness mean so much. They remind us that what may look like one backpack, one gift, or one season on a team can become a memory a child carries with them for years.

Kenzi’s Causes will keep looking for ways to say yes to more Colorado kids, and every person who supports this work helps make those yeses possible.

Applications are open for Sportz4Kidz's last funding cycle.
Please note the following important information.

1. If you need funding in the next 30 days, we will not be able to assist you. Once applications close, I have to review them all and then request funding. Once I request funding, it usually takes a week, and then another week for me to see those funds, if not longer.

2. Applications for children who have never received funds will get 1st priority. Then children not funded this year. If you have already received funding this year, please do not apply.

3. This is open to anyone in the state of Colorado.

4. If you have several children you would like to participate, you just need to complete an application for each child.

5. The application will be open until Sunday, October 25, 2006. After this round of applications, we will not have any more funding for 2026.
