🎃 Halloween Fun at CLA! 👻

We had a spooktacular time at our CLASS Halloween Party last Friday! Participants from CLASS and Residential, staff, Host Home Providers, and Board members came together for an afternoon of costumes, laughter, and fun!

❤️ A special thank you to Lazy K’s Ranch for donating the beef for our sloppy joes, Denise for the Halloween treat bags filled with candy, bracelets, and a fun activity, and Board member Margaret for donating sugar-free candy!

Thanks to everyone who helped make the celebration so much fun! Enjoy some of our favorite photos! 📸

Your Vote. Your Voice!

Seven participants joined our October CLA Advisory Group meeting to talk about voting and the upcoming election!

Using a plain-language voting guide from THINK+change, the group explored what's on Colorado's ballot and what voting "yes" or "no" means for different issues.

At CLA, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to make informed choices and have their voice heard.

💙 Nothing About Us Without Us!

Trying to retire the R-word? There are plenty of better words.

What are you actually trying to say?

Something makes no sense? Ridiculous. Absurd. Illogical.

Someone made a bad decision? Foolish. Careless. Unwise.

Something is frustrating? Annoying. Frustrating. Infuriating.

Something is strange? Bizarre. Odd. Wild.

Something is funny? Hilarious. Silly. Outrageous.

We have thousands of words to choose from. We don't need to use disability as an insult.

Expand your vocabulary. Retire the R-word.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Yappy Hour at the Arvada B**r Gardenthis week! 🐾💙

We loved spending the evening with so many friends, supporters, families—and, of course, some very good dogs! Your support helps Community Living Alternatives continue creating opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live, grow and connect in our community.

A very special thank you to our generous sponsors, KONG and New Terrain Brewing Company, for helping make Yappy Hour possible. We’re so grateful for your support of CLA and the people we serve.

And thank you to everyone who stopped by, donated, participated in the fun and helped make the evening such a success. We’re lucky to have such a wonderful community behind us.

Until next year—thank you for making Yappy Hour so special! 🐶💛

As DSP Recognition Week comes to a close, we’re reminded that the appreciation for our incredible Direct Support Professionals extends far beyond just one week. 💜

One CLASS family shared this beautiful message:

“Every day should be a celebration of DSPs! Dave is Benjamin’s special person—they understand each other. But we are also grateful for Juni, Melanie and Angel, as they make CLASS the special place it is.”

We couldn’t agree more. Our DSPs bring patience, compassion, connection and joy to the people we support every single day—and we are so grateful for all they do.

💬 We’d love to keep the gratitude going! If a CLA DSP has made a difference in your life or the life of someone you love, please share a message of appreciation in the comments. We’d love to celebrate them.
