ATO helps law enforcement families through catastrophic circumstances brought about by accident, illness, or injury.

Since its creation in 1999, the ATO has provided assistance to officers and their families who were faced with any number of different life-altering situations. There was no resource or organization in place to assist officers who were facing devastating situations until ATO was formed. Assistance is primarily financial, but has extended to other support including information, referrals, and counseling. In 2004, the Foundation launched a first of its kind confidential counseling service, exclusively for Dallas police officers. The stress of everyday life can take a toll on almost anyone – add to that the danger and stress of being a police officer – and sometimes life can be overwhelming. Our counseling program was designed for police officers, by police officers and professionals working together. ATO is a tax exempt, non-profit organization under the provisions of the Internal Revenue Code 501(c)3.

🎀 OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH 🎀

No One Fights Alone. 💗

Throughout October, the Assist the Officer Foundation proudly stands with those battling breast cancer, celebrates the survivors, and honors the memory of those we have lost.

To our brothers and sisters in law enforcement, our firefighters, their families, and everyone affected by this disease — you are not alone in this fight.

Early detection saves lives. Take time to schedule your screenings, encourage your loved ones to do the same, and continue supporting those facing this battle.

💗 Together, we are stronger. No One Fights Alone.

💙 STAND WITH KARISSA – HONORING A HERO! 💙

On August 29, 2024, Dallas Police Officer Karissa David ran toward danger to help a fellow officer who had been ambushed. She was shot multiple times, suffering life-changing injuries, including the loss of her sight.

On October 22, Karissa will medically retire from the Dallas Police Department.

She answered the call for Dallas. Now it’s our turn to answer the call for her. 💙

The Assist the Officer Foundation invites our community to help support Karissa and her family as she begins this next chapter.

🙏 Please consider donating and sharing her story. Every dollar makes a difference!
