They won’t say it, but many dads who provide, protect, and guide their families feel they have little encouragement and even less support. It doesn’t have to be that way. At Buckner, we believe that when fathers are equipped, families are strengthened.
In the U.S., about 18.4 million children live without a biological, step, or adoptive father in the home. Fathers are absent in roughly 80% of single‑parent households. We see the results in elevated risks related to poverty, educational outcomes, and emotional health. Research has consistently shown that children with engaged fathers are more likely to perform better in school and less likely to experience behavioral challenges, law enforcement issues, or substance abuse.
Scripture reminds us that God never intended fathers to answer the call alone.
Buckner walks alongside fathers through Fatherhood EFFECT, offering free life-skill education and coaching in Beaumont, Longview, and their surrounding counties. The program serves expecting dads, biological dads, stepfathers, foster dads, kinship caregivers, guardians, and grandfathers of children up to age 17. Fatherhood takes many forms and we welcome them. Learn more about our program and the importance of strengthening dads: https://na2.hubs.ly/H06cyDY0
