Over the past two weeks, we hosted our 2026 Spring “Designing My Future” K–12 Camps. This year, campers got hands-on exploring design thinking for clients and building clay models. Their creativity and enthusiasm were truly inspiring.

We always aim to spark curiosity, foster collaboration, and bring ideas to life. We’re excited to share a few highlights from the camps and extend a heartfelt thank you to our volunteers, staff members, and sponsors who help make each camp such a memorable experience.

We also have some exciting news brewing for our upcoming summer camp sessions, and registration will be opening shortly. In the meantime, mark your calendars:

Join us on Wednesday, May 6 for the Wing + Build Student Showcase, featuring student work developed through a hands-on program focused on design and pollinator habitats. Sponsored by Gresham Smith and in collaboration with Dallas ISD, the initiative introduces students to design thinking through small-scale, nature-based projects such as birdhouses and bee hotels.

Explore student boards and built pieces, engage with the work, and vote for your favorite projects, with awards presented during the event. https://ow.ly/fw1M50YR74c

Last month at the fifth annual Gala for Architecture, we honored AIA Dallas Lifetime Award recipient Marcel Quimby, FAIA, and the AD EX Community Cornerstone Award winner John F. Scovell who have both made a transformative impact on Dallas and North Texas.

Together, we raised over $100,000 to support our mission of fostering access to architecture and design for all.

The Gala funds the Foundation’s year-round public programs and exhibitions promoting the value of architecture to residents and visitors; scholarships and fellowships for the next generation of architects in North Texas; and projects exemplifying how design can positively impact our everyday life. We want to thank everyone who joined us that evening for their generous support.

Meet one of our four 2026 Art of Architecture jurors, Lisa Casey, ASLA, Hon. AIA Dallas. Lisa Casey, a professional landscape architect, has experience bringing complex projects into reality for mixed use projects and park systems. She focuses on design that brings wholeness to people and places, emphasizing placemaking and children’s outdoor environments in civic and mixed-use spaces. Her creative inspiration starts with the existing context, client collaboration, and extensive travel and sketching experience.

She has lived and traveled in Europe and explored much of the US with a sketchbook in hand. She has also participated in ASLA’s annual sketch crawls in Boston, Denver, Chicago, and New Orleans. Her curiosity provides a wellspring of references and knowledge that supports creative solutions tailored to each individual site. Lisa received the Kay Tiller Chapter Service Award in 2016 for her work with the state ASLA chapter and the Outstanding Service Aware in 2018 for her work with national ASLA.
