Video for the maiden flight of Dave Jones' recently acquired Freewing JAS-39C Gripen. Dave got this used from another club member and asked me to set it up, as I have had the same model plane for a few months now, and it is a somewhat complex set-up with the canards and throttle-based variable gains on the gyro. This video is of the maiden I did for Dave to make sure all was well with the plane. Dave took the controls for a subsequent flight which I will also post.

I was testing out the video camera on my new phone this morning, just happened to catch Chris and a mishap with his Freewing Avanti S V2. Pretty windy today, and when Chris was coming around for his 3rd pass, he misjudged the impact the wind was having on the plane, and plopped it into the tall grass on the side of the field. Minor damage to the right wing but it's repairable.

Very short video showcasing Dave Jones' unique approach to taking off with his 50mm Habu. No landing gear on this plane so he just places it on the runway. The plane pulls to the left terribly when first starting, so Dave points it perpendicular to the center-line of the runway and hopes for the best !😆

Crashing sometimes requires walking into an adjacent field to retrieve your plane. Arthur Govoni and David Jones got it done today!

It's not often we capture a crash on video, but today was the day.

This is the maiden flight of Art Govoni's 3D-Printed Bush Plane. Mark took the controls for the maiden flight and got it trimmed. Art took over for the second flight- pulled too many G's during a dive- the wing collapsed and separated from the fuselage- Good Times! ✈😆
