We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, shared, and supported Breave during his medical emergency. ❤️

Breave spent 6 nights in the hospital after being diagnosed with a diaphragmatic hernia that caused a bowel obstruction and liver damage. He underwent surgery on Monday, where the team repaired the hernia, returned his organs to their proper place, and removed a small portion of his liver. We are so thankful to say that he did amazing—and he was able to come home yesterday!

Your generosity truly made this possible. The cost of emergency care like this is significant, and every donation helped give Breave a second chance.

Although Hartman’s Haven Dog Rescue hasn’t been able to take in dogs for several years, we remain committed to helping our community in urgent situations like this whenever funds allow. Your continued support means everything and allows us to keep showing up when it matters most.

It truly takes a team, and we are so thankful to be surrounded by such a compassionate, caring community.

I got a call yesterday from a family asking for advice and help with their dog. The owner is a very sweet young girl who just turned 21 yesterday. She rescued this dog and has been giving him a fantastic life after his previous family was no longer able to keep him. She noticed that he has not been acting normal and took him to the vet yesterday because he has been vomiting and not using the bathroom. Exam revealed that he had a diaphragmatic hernia, and it was referred to the emergency hospital for surgery.

He is currently being taken care of by the 24 hour emergency hospital and they are hoping to do surgery as soon as possible. The low estimate for everything he needs is $7000 up to $10,000.

The owner was able to apply for CareCredit and was approved for some, but not enough to cover his surgery. If anyone is able to help, I am going to try to collect donations for her. We have already called in money to help cover the deposit.

I’m a 5-year-old Goldendoodle, and I’ve been through a lot lately. I have a diaphragmatic hernia and high bilirubin levels, and I need surgery to help me heal and feel like myself again.

If anyone can donate to help this lady I know her and her dog would greatly appreciate it. We received this message from a local woman. We can take in donations and help pay towards the vet bill or if anyone would prefer to pay the vet message us for the information . Shes in hickory NC area.

This is Gracie Mae. Gracie was adopted a year ago from a shelter as skin and bones from neglect. She has been healthy until last night. Last night she went totally unresponsive and we thought we were going to lose her. Since my husband passed away earlier this year I've been struggling to keep up with everything. At the moment I have no funds to take her to an emergency vet. She does need to go. She just turned 2 years old and is usually full of energy and s***k. I need our funky little girl back. Please anyone that can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Be part of something amazing!
We have two litters of stray kittens that have been taken in by animal-loving people in our county. We have the opportunity to get them to a rescue partner in NY to find them indoor homes if we can get them vaccinated and spayed/neutered prior. If anyone can help sponsor a kitten's vet services or a donation towards it, we truly appreciate it.

Help find Hershey a home!
This sweet boy has been fully vetted- vaccinated and neutered.
He was adopted from animal control but him and the adopters resident dog are not getting along.
He’s done great in the house
Approx 5 years old
Loves the water and people
Would probably be best as an only dog or with a submissive female dog

Foster needed!!! Has a rescue if we can get a foster

Animal control is out of space and shes been there the longest. So shes next up for euthanizing .

Tragically, her owner passed away, and now Toffee has nowhere to go. She’s a young adult with so much love left to give. Approx 1-2 years old.
Was submissive to other dogs when introduced . Ignored the cats in the cat room at yhe shelter.

Currently at Ashe county animal control in Crumpler NC

Foster ideally needed around the area of Hickory NC

💥👉PUPDATE 👈 💥on Beatrice 4-9-25

Beatrice went to the vet today. Dr Monday believes she is between 15-18 yrs old. Shockingly no Pyometra. Blood Work was unremarkable. She is anemic and bloated along with having a bad ear infection. Beatrice does have Megaesophagus and will need a special diet and lots of love. On top of all this she does have Hookworms and the vet thinks she could have Cushings Disease too. She will be tested for this on her next visit. Poor girl needs lots of dental work 😩

So we wait a couple weeks while she is on all her meds and see how we proceed. Right now she is wheezing pretty bad and all she does is eats and sleeps.

We are wanting to pull this poor dog from Catawba County Animal Services. She was found as a stray and taken to the shelter. Who ever owned this dog needs to be found and charged with animal cruelty! She is so bad it was recommended that she be rescue only or euthanized.

We can’t let that happen!

Can anyone foster her for 2-3 weeks. We have a rescue in the northeast that can take her soon.

Minnie has rescue comittment with Hartman's Haven Dog Rescue and will be leaving tomorrow!

Minnie is an unclaimed stray and is now available for adoption. She can be a little timidat first.

She weighs 29 lbs and may be house trained, as her kennel stays fairly clean. No dog or food aggression seen.

This sweet girl got a 2nd chance at life with a wonderful dog loving family but needs surgery they cannot afford. If anyone is willing to donate please do so here. We need 1/2 of the estimate to schedule her.

Message from the current owner:
Six years ago, we rescued Precious in hopes of finding her a home, but she has stayed with us. In October she had 2 surgeries to remove a couple tumors on her belly. Recently we have discovered she has more masses on her abdomen. The vet advises she will need a total massectomy to give her a chance of survival. Our vet has estimated the cost coud be upwards $4,00.00 or more. If you can find it in your heart to donate, any little bit will be greatly appreciated!. Thank you so much ❤️
