A New Path Forward. When Dave returned to Hickory after a year in recovery, he faced uncertainty and homelessness. Through Strong Life, he found a job - and a bike to get there!

Today, Dave is thriving in our Men’s Program, surrounded by community and purpose. His story reminds us that small steps - like a ride to work - can lead to life-changing transformation.

The Blessing of a Bathroom!

As summer fades and fall begins, we’re reminded of God’s perfect timing - and the power of community. What started as a damaged bathroom floor became a beautiful example of teamwork and generosity.

Thanks to Pastor John, Mitch the carpenter, and Viewmont Baptist for stepping in with skill and supplies. Because of you, Strong Life now has a safe, restored space that serves everyone who walks through our doors.

A Helping Hand

Sometimes ministry looks like a sermon.

Sometimes it looks like a hammer and a saw.

Earlier this summer, Pastor John had the opportunity to build a wheelchair ramp for a homebound neighbor who had no safe way to leave home for doctor's appointments. What could have taken months to receive through other resources was completed in just half a day.

A simple ramp became a pathway to renewed freedom, independence, and hope.

At Strong Life Rescue Mission, we believe serving others means meeting practical needs while sharing the love of Christ. Every act of kindness is an opportunity to glorify God and remind someone they are not forgotten.

"Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." — 1 Corinthians 10:31

What Happens Each Morning at Strong Life Rescue Mission?

Every morning begins long before our guests arrive.

Before sunrise, our volunteers and staff are preparing coffee, breakfast, fresh towels, and a welcoming place where our homeless neighbors can find hope for a new day.

But breakfast is only the beginning.

Each morning includes a devotional, prayer, pastoral counseling, showers, laundry, clothing, hygiene items, transportation assistance, and connections to resources that help people move toward employment, restored relationships, and greater stability.

Over the past three years, God has allowed us to serve more than 3,000 different people, with over 18,000 visits each year.

What may seem like an ordinary morning has become an extraordinary opportunity to share the love of Christ and watch lives change - one person, one conversation, and one day at a time.

Thank you for making this ministry possible through your prayers, financial support, donations, and volunteer service.

As we continue serving our summer campers at StrongLife Rescue Mission, we have some immediate needs and would greatly appreciate your help!

• Vienna sausages

• Chicken

• 2XL and 3XL T-shirts

As we continue improving our facilities this summer, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the churches and volunteer groups that have served alongside us. Special thanks to Hickory Bible Church, Tabernacle Baptist Church, and Mountain View Baptist Church for their incredible support and hard work.

We are currently seeking volunteers with construction experience to help with projects including installing a door, repairing a water-damaged bathroom floor, and preparing our facilities for future expansion. Huge thanks to the Forge Men’s Group from Encounter Church Hickory for blessing our residents with grilled steaks, powerful testimonies, and a timely word from Pastor Elijah London.

Our men are hitting major milestones—nearly half are in the final phase of the program, and several are preparing to regain their driver’s licenses. If you know of a reliable, affordable vehicle, it could make a life‑changing difference.

We’re grateful for every church, volunteer, and supporter who are following the example of Jesus, "Who came not to be served, but to serve..." (Mk 10:45). Thank you for helping us continue this mission.
