Since 1945, Catholic Social Services (CSS) has been a source of compassion, dignity, and hope for those Christ calls us to serve throughout our community. Serving over 10,000 individuals annually, our mission is supported by dedicated volunteers

who help seniors find connections, guide families toward a brighter future, and assist young adults in transitioning to the workforce. Rooted in the belief that every person reflects the image of God, we journey together as neighbors, empowering individuals to shape their own futures with our unwavering support. Catholic Social Services is joining Catholic Charities agencies across the United States to host "People of Hope: Faith-Filled Stories of Neighbors Helping Neighbors," a nationwide storytelling museum designed to amplify the profound impact of Christian service.

We're celebrating two incredible individuals from our Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion programs who were honored at this year's "16 Over 60 Awards," presented by the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging. This award recognizes remarkable older adults who make a lasting difference in our community through their service and dedication to others.

Allen is one of our Foster Grandparents who has spent nearly a decade mentoring and tutoring students in Columbus City Schools. His presence brings stability and warmth to classrooms, and he also mentors and encourages fellow Foster Grandparents, especially those new to the program.

Wanda is recognized for a decade of service as one of our Senior Companions. Wanda is a trusted presence for her senior clients, going beyond basic tasks to build meaningful relationships that reduce loneliness and foster independence. As an Advisory Council member, she also contributes insights that strengthen and expand the program.

We will be hosting the People of Hope Museum this July!

Catholic Charities USA has launched this traveling, storytelling museum celebrating the power of Christian service. The museum will visit more than 150 communities on its three-year journey around the United States to promote empathy and inspire visitors to find ways to serve those in need in their local areas.

Thank you to all who joined us for our second annual Bluegrass with the Bishop! We loved seeing everyone's boots, tasting some bourbon, and especially enjoyed the blessing of celebrating together and supporting our mission of Neighbors Serving Neighbors. We are so grateful for your generosity, it is truly life-changing for the families, seniors, and persons with disabilities that we serve.
