Anyone interested in the Vendor Fair for the McGuffey Building 100 Years of Excellence Celebration, please fill out the linked form and send the completed copy to [email protected]. When we notify you whether the form has been accepted we will provide instructions as to payment. Please send in your completed applications as soon as possible, but no later than September 25, 2026 (although we may accept late applications if we have additional space).

The CAHS Education Foundation is looking for volunteers for the Oct 10, 2026 Homecoming and 100 year celebration event. Let me know if you can help.
Need 10 volunteers to man the registration table. No one there alone and you get to see everyone who comes in and help them know what’s happening! Sign up for an hour between 12 noon and 4pm.
Need 3-4 Dungeon Masters to assist with our Dungeons and Dragons entry level campaign. We will make sure you get materials and guidelines asap. Need to be comfortable with newbies. 1:30pm-4pm
Need 3-4 fold to help with set up from 8am until noon. Blow up lots of balloons, put table cloths on tables, and see everything before everyone else!
Need 3-4 helpers to get us cleaned up and packed up. Hopefully under an hour!5pm-6pm
Looking for 2 -3 people to help with our Memorial Room - a quiet space where people can remember those who have passed way. 3-90min shifts starting at 12:30, 2:00, and 3:30

Hey everyone, there were some posts earlier this week about some efforts certain school community members are making in order to help ease the transition of the CAHS program to a new building. Please note that the CAHS Education Foundation is not per se promoting any actions with respect to the closing of the building, but we welcome anyone with ideas or concerns related to that issue to discuss them on our site, as it has the most alumni members and it is a useful way to reach large numbers of alumni at one time.

The Foundation was created to support the school and anything we can do to help the school get out messages relating to current events or concerns is within our mission. But to reiterate, we do not, as an organization, have a position on the closing of the school, the interim or any new principal, or where the program should end up. The current members of the Board, Holly Heer, Rissa Long, Art Ferrara, Seko Benjamin-Eric Varner, Tim Browning and Chris McCormick OConnor all have thoughts and opinions about what would be best, and we may share those from time to time--but those opinions are personal only and not the official position of the Foundation. If at any time the Foundation determines it is in the best interest of either the Foundation or CAHS to take a position on any of those issues, we will let you know.

In the meantime, we request that everyone please treat others on our site with respect, even in disagreement and we encourage you to use our page as a forum to discuss the issues facing CAHS moving forward.

From the CAHS PTA site. Air conditioning update:

I asked Alex Trevino, the district’s Facilities Guy, if he had a progress report on the CAHS HVAC work. Here is the good news (and I’m not being sarcastic with “good news”):

So good to hear from you. It’s been a super busy summer but we’re holding up pretty well here.

I just met at the site yesterday with my PM to review progress and we’re looking real good at CAHS actually. Below are a couple of bullet points on progress I can report as of today:

-We are projecting that the new building HVAC systems will all be operating prior to the return of staff on 8/21.

We needed to complete a major electrical upgrade to support the new HVAC system and we were able to complete that work about 2 weeks ago. You may have heard that we had to have power off to the building for nearly a week to complete this work so we were thankful to have that behind us.

-Nearly all of our major new equipment has been delivered and is already set on the roof, awaiting final connections and startup.

-As of this morning, we actually have new HVAC units operating in 8 classrooms. Those rooms are already nice and cool!

-Below are a couple of progress photos. The older classrooms (western half of the building) get new ductwork similar to what you see in the first photo. One of our largest air handlers in the district now sits on the roof over the same western wing. It replaces some really old equipment that used to be in the basement and will not provide the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning for the western portion of the building.

-As an FYI, we negotiated with Franklin County to keep CAHS as a voting site for this August 8th as work is progressing well enough to support that.

-My PM is meeting with District Communications today and there should be an update on construction at CAHS on the district webpage early next week. At Centennial High School, crews are working on exterior repairs to make the building watertight. Workers have started installing new flashing above the doors and windows and caulking around the doors and windows. Click here to see more in-progress renovation photos.
