Rising, together. 🧡

Last night marked the first-ever Women on the Rise (WOTR) social gathering! What a treat to celebrate one another while uniting under the mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.

The title of 'Woman on the Rise' is special, and each and every honoree illustrates that. These emerging leaders are hard at work in our communities, creating meaningful social change and uplifting others, and YWCA Columbus couldn't be more proud to have them among our alumni.

Ready to join the WOTR and help build a stronger Columbus? The Persimmon Club is an exclusive monthly giving program that empowers supporters to create lasting change. Join at the $25 level and receive a Persimmon Club pin recognizing your commitment to sustaining a critical lifeline for our community’s most vulnerable members. https://buff.ly/9qguIKS

YWCA Columbus is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Patrice Palmer, a beloved advocate, changemaker, and 2023 Women of Achievement honoree.

A nationally recognized social worker, co-founder of Chosen4Change, and tireless champion for justice, Dr. Palmer dedicated her life to helping others break cycles of adversity and realize their potential. Through her lived experience and commitment to transformation, she inspired countless individuals and strengthened many communities in Central Ohio and beyond.

We are grateful for her extraordinary impact and the legacy of hope, healing, and empowerment she leaves behind. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by her remarkable work.

Amazing people drive our mission. 🧡

Last week’s Spring All-Staff Celebration (one of our favorite events of the year!) reminded of us of the strength, joy, and unity that fuels YWCA Columbus. Advocating, supporting families, fighting for equity—we're all focused on the same goal.

We’re so grateful for the opportunity to gather, enjoy one another’s company, and recognize the impact of our daily work.

Huge thanks to the the Lincoln Theatre for graciously hosting us in their gorgeous historic space.

May’s Justice Gem is here and we are honoring all things matriarchy! 💎

Did you know that the patriarchy hasn’t always been the norm? That’s right! For tens of thousands of years communities across the globe operated as matriarchies.

Not just this month, but always we want to express our love and gratitude to all the matriarchal figures out there: your strength, wisdom, and nurturing qualities have raised not only individuals, but entire communities of people.

Can’t get enough Danielle and Phyl? Check out our Justice, Equity & Belonging (JEB) training offerings— links in bio.
