Amazing people drive our mission. 🧡

Last week’s Spring All-Staff Celebration (one of our favorite events of the year!) reminded of us of the strength, joy, and unity that fuels YWCA Columbus. Advocating, supporting families, fighting for equity—we're all focused on the same goal.

We’re so grateful for the opportunity to gather, enjoy one another’s company, and recognize the impact of our daily work.

Huge thanks to the the Lincoln Theatre for graciously hosting us in their gorgeous historic space.

May’s Justice Gem is here and we are honoring all things matriarchy! 💎

Did you know that the patriarchy hasn’t always been the norm? That’s right! For tens of thousands of years communities across the globe operated as matriarchies.

Not just this month, but always we want to express our love and gratitude to all the matriarchal figures out there: your strength, wisdom, and nurturing qualities have raised not only individuals, but entire communities of people.

Can’t get enough Danielle and Phyl? Check out our Justice, Equity & Belonging (JEB) training offerings— links in bio.

This week, The Supreme Court effectively gutted what was left of the 1965 Voting Rights Act (VRA) – now leaving only a husk of the landmark civil rights legislation in its wake. The VRA prohibited states from denying citizens the right to vote based on race, included provisions that banned states from implementing discriminatory voting practices, and required jurisdictions with a history of voter discrimination to obtain preclearance before enforcing a new voting policy – a truly historic victory in the fight for civil rights and fair representation.
