Some Ohio legislators are trying to rush a proposal to get a worst-of-both-worlds proposed constitutional amendment on the ballot for the fall election, and we were at the Statehouse today to share testimony on why SJR9 is a waste of everyone's time.
This attempt to mess with our constitution for something that's already state law—don't these folks have anything better to do?

LWVO Executive Director Jen Miller is at the very end, but interestingly not a single person testifying was in favor of SJR9. Watch for yourself to see why: https://ohiochannel.org/programs/ohio-house-general-government-committee-5-27-2026?start=9360

Majority leaders in Ohio's General Assembly introduced a joint resolution this week that would put a proposed constitutional amendment change on the ballot this fall to duplicate existing state voter ID law.

This is not a good use of Ohioans' resources.
