Our executive director, Meg Porter Stanley, had an unexpected highlight during a recent visit to Madrid seeing the city’s commitment to teaching children how to move safely through their community. 🚲🛴

In a large city park, mobility agents had created a hands-on course complete with street signs, painted pavement, and road layouts where children could practice navigating safely on bikes and scooters.

"It was inspiring to see mobility safety treated as a way of life—something to be taught early, practiced often, and woven into the culture of a city."

A beautiful reminder that creating safer streets isn’t just about infrastructure. It’s about educating, empowering, and giving the next generation the confidence to move through their city safely. 💚

A significant step to ensuring children are offered meals while at school. In 2022, about 40% of eligible children could eat for free while at school; after this legislation, over 80% could!
