Rosewood Community Council

Rosewood Community Council Rosewood Rocks. Residents enjoy the friendly atmosphere, diversity and convenience of in-town life and amenities. Join us!

Rosewood is a vibrant and historic in-town residential community with beautiful parks, tree-lined streets, commercial and industrial districts, and a public airport. A charming mix of old and new make Rosewood one of Columbia's most eclectic and attractive communities for young professionals, families, and seniors. Rosewood Community Council is the umbrella organization over four neighborhood asso

ciations in the Rosewood area--South Kilbourne, Edisto Court, South Wacammaw, and Central Rosewood. We meet on the third Thursdays of January, April, July, and October to share community news and concerns. It is also a great opportunity to interact with city leaders and become an activist for the neighborhood. We hope to see you at meetings and volunteering for community events. Be on the lookout for event invites here and if there’s something you’d like to see happen in Rosewood send us a message and let’s make Rosewood the best neighborhood it can be!

The miner bees are back in Rosewood! The park is full of them and we’ve got some in our yard too. These natives bees are docile and are only around for a couple weeks while they pollinate and dig nests. Please let them be and they’ll be gone soon. 🐝

SCDOT TO HOLD PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING FOR DEVINE STREET CORRIDOR STUDY

SCDOT will host a public information meeting for the Devine Street Corridor Study from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in the basement meeting room of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 2827 Wheat Street.

A formal presentation will begin promptly at 6pm, during which the project team will provide a brief overview of the study, followed by a discussion of potential design alternatives. Attendees will have the opportunity before and after the presentation to review alternatives and provide feedback. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more.

Interested individuals who are unable to attend the meeting in-person can find the project information, including meeting materials, by visiting the project website at projectportal.scdot.org/DevineStreetCorridorStudy

SCDOT proposes to evaluate the feasibility of corridor improvements to Devine Street in Columbia, SC from Harden Street to Millwood Avenue. Improvements could include, but are not limited to, lane configurations, parking, bike and pedestrian accommodations, and lighting.

SCDOT will accept public comments on this project through December 19, 2025. Comments may be submitted in-person at the public meeting, online on the project website, or via email to [email protected].

Meeting materials will be posted to the website for review and comment on the day of the public meeting. To request an accommodation, or for inquiries about accessibility, please contact Ginny Jones at 803-737-1276.
