The 2026 session was one of the busiest and most complex we’ve seen in recent years. Lawmakers tackled a variety of issues ranging from infrastructure, roads, insurance, budget priorities, h**p beverages, and DUI reform, to name a few.

There were certainly political distractions and intense debates throughout the session that created turmoil and halted some progress; however, SCR stayed focused on one thing: promoting policies that strengthen housing opportunities across South Carolina.

And because of that focus, we secured several meaningful legislative victories for property owners, homeowners, and the real estate industry.

Join your SCR Chief Advocacy Officer, Lindsay Hutto, as she breaks down the 2026 session in this special End of Session legislative recap.
