You may have heard about changes being discussed today at the federal level related to moving special education programs away from the Department of Education over to the Department of Health and Human Services.
We want you to know that the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the protections it provides remain in full effect. The laws have not changed.
Family Connection is still here — fully committed to supporting you and your children as you navigate educational systems.
No matter what happens in the broader system, Family Connection’s mission doesn’t change. We will continue providing guidance, training, and support to South Carolina families, just as we have for more than 35 years.
