District 5 of Lexington and Richland Counties is creating a Special Education Parent Advisory Council! 💙👏

Parents and district staff attended our parent leadership training led by Family Connection of South Carolina to prepare them for a successful SEPAC.

A few parent reactions following the training on how they'll use the information they learned:

“I will use this information to strengthen my advocacy efforts for all children. I am empowered to make a difference.”

Chief SPED Officer with Family Connection of South Carolina, Jena Martin, was recently part of a panel focused on preschool discipline as part of the SC Pyramid PIECES/SCPI/SCIC’s first annual United for Every Child conference. 💙🎤

The panel also featured Jennifer Rainville with South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center who will be partnering with us for two upcoming Special Education Advocate trainings.
