Experience how technology and movement can come together in thoughtful, human-centered ways.
Join us in Akron, Ohio on Saturday, June 6th, and in Detroit, Michigan on Thursday, June 11th, for CodeMoves: weaving technology in the creative practice.
Over the past 18 months, TMP Associate Director Elyse Morckel, alongside collaborators Lauren Bedal of Los Angeles and Miryam Gabrielle of Detroit, have explored how AI technologies can support and expand choreographic practice while remaining accessible to artists without technical backgrounds. Shaped by community feedback from dancers, choreographers, and creative technologist partners, the project has grown into a deeper mission of educating the dance community around the nuances of AI and building practical tools that artists can use within their own creative processes. Join us this June for a lecture and performance experience featuring original works by Miryam Gabrielle and Elyse Morckel.
Special thanks to The Knight Foundation New Work Grant for providing funding support for this research.
We extend sincere thanks to the dancers, collaborators, and supporters who helped bring CodeMoves to life.
