BigHearted Blooms

BigHearted Blooms BigHearted Blooms started as Sue’s passion project. She also witnessed first hand how many people were fighting their health challenges alone.

BigHearted Blooms is a non-profit who collects and repurposes donated flowers to bring joy to individuals in care facilities and others who suffer from loneliness and social isolation. In her many hours spent in assisted living homes, nursing homes and hospitals helping her mom who battled dementia, she’d met many wonderful people who sometimes just needed an emotional lift. During her own cancer

treatment she realized how fortunate she was to have a great support system and how much that helped her stay positive and strong. When she accidentally came across the organization Random Acts of Flowers (a similar group now operating in four cities around the country) she knew, right then, this idea had to happen in Cleveland. Through one simple act of kindness, so many people, in so many different situations, could have a bit of joy and know that others are thinking of them. So Sue enlisted the help of good friends – all successful entrepreneurs and fellow small business owners. They became equally passionate about the idea and Bighearted Blooms was born.

Thanks to this small but mighty group from Cleveland Clinic who joined us for both workshops on Tuesday! Their helping hands made a big impact as we created 200 beautiful bouquets to share throughout our community. 💐❤️

A huge thank you to this beautiful couple for donating their wedding flowers to BigHearted Blooms! 💐❤️ After a busy Sunday morning delivering flowers, food, and more across town, their gorgeous blooms made their way to us.

Our volunteers got right to work taking everything apart, prepping, and creating beautiful new arrangements. By yesterday, these flowers were back out in our community, bringing joy to more than 80 recipients!

And as you can see, our volunteers had plenty of fun creating with such beautiful blooms. 🌸

One generous donation, repurposed and shared again and again—that’s what is all about! 💕
