After seeing first-hand the challenges children face on a day-to-day basis, Jillian Wolstein and her family were inspired to make a difference. In 2006, Jillian Wolstein founded HELP, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing Hope, Education, Love and Protection to children everywhere. HELP has established its current programs in Malawi, Africa, with an ultimate vision of carrying out our mi

ssion on a global level.

“Just one second with these amazing children and you will fall in love, as I did, forever. These children have lost so much, yet their hearts are filled with love and hope for the future. Together, we can return the love by giving hope, education, love and protection.” -Jillian Wolstein

H.E.L.P. is proud to invite you to a screening of Lovely Jackson at the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival on Friday October 7th at 5:15pm. H.E.L.P. funded and executive produced this documentary about America’s longest wrongfully held exonerated prisoner, Rickey Jackson. In the film, he returns to the prison where his 39-year journey of survival began and guides his younger self from death row to freedom. A true story about the triumph of hope, forgiveness, and perseverance through the darkest and most hopeless of circumstances that begins in violence and ends with love. At the time of his release in 2014, Rickey was the longest wrongfully incarcerated person in U.S. history — spending 39 years on death row and in Ohio’s most dangerous prisons after being convicted solely on the coerced eye-witness testimony of a 12-year-old neighborhood paper boy.

Rickey Jackson’s story of hope and perseverance aligns strongly with the mission and vision of H.E.L.P. The mission of H.E.L.P. is to provide Hope, Education, Love, and Protection to people facing seemingly insurmountable circumstances by way of human injustices and challenges. H.E.L.P. believes it is every human’s birthright to receive this support and is committed, without boundaries, to doing what is right to help. H.E.L.P.’s vision is to create a world in which anyone in any crisis can find the help they need.

It is with a very heavy heart that we share the news that a cherished member of our H.E.L.P. family, Scott Wolstein, passed away yesterday evening.

As we mourn this tremendous loss, we are reminded of Scott’s overwhelmingly full life. From growing a Fortune 500 Company alongside his father, to rebuilding the historic Flats East Bank, to helping to open schools and health centers throughout Central Africa, Scott’s impact on society is second to none. Yet, above all, his true passion was his dear family and friends.

While we grieve the loss of our friend, father, partner, son, and hero, we are assured that Scott’s legacy will continue. And although we lay our beloved friend to rest, we know that he will live on — through his remarkable contributions to humanity, and most notably, through the lives of his four children, Harrison, Ilana, Shelby, and Merrick, and his life-partner, Jillian, all whom share Scott’s same spirit, fueled by ambition and generosity.

Thank you to Scott Wolstein for leaving the world a better place. May he rest in peace.

In order to help address Malawi’s myriad of health issues, H.E.L.P. partnered with the Malawian Ministry of Health, along with several committed donors, including CAWS, Peace Corps Volunteers, Options, MedWish International and Bob Swan of Hosanna Church, to build the Nandumbo Health Care Center. Since its opening in 2010, the Nandumbo Health Center serves a community of more than 25,000 and continues to treat around 250 patients a day.
