On September 29th, 2026, LMM teamed up with the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Cuyahoga County, and Cleveland VOTES to present “Dollars and Sense: Get to Know the County Levies.”

This was a civic education forum with the goal to give a high-level overview of the impact of both the Developmental Disability and the two HHS levies that will be on the ballot this November.

Thank you to Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne, CEO of the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities Dr. Amber C. Gibbs, and Director of the Cuyahoga County Department of Health and Human Services, David Merriman, for sharing their insights on each issue, and to everyone who joined us for a wonderful and informative evening!

Thank you to the Gideon's for generously donating 300 bibles to our Shelter!

We are distributing them throughout the dormitories, as well as adding many of the copies into our Shelter’s library where several bible studies meet on an ongoing basis.

An LMM staff partner is also keeping a few copies in her office to distribute to individuals who come to her office to talk for when she senses they might appreciate a bible.

LMM is kindly requesting donations of men's tennis shoes to support those we serve at our Shelter! 🚨

There are two ways you can contribute:

1. Our Amazon Wish List has an affordable tennis shoe featured at the top. These are just one suggestion. If you find a less expensive or different brand that you would prefer to donate, please feel free to do so.

2. We also accept donations at our Shelter's front desk. The entrance is at 2020 Lakeside Avenue in Cleveland, with an off-street parking lot adjacent to our front door. Donations are accepted from 8:30am-6:30pm.

Your gift helps ensure the individuals we serve have access to the everyday essentials they need with dignity and care, and either form of donating is immensely appreciated.

There is less than one week until our Civic Education Forum with the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Cuyahoga County, and Cleveland Votes!

Join us on Tuesday, September 29th at 6:00 p.m. for Dollars and Sense: Get to Know the County Levies, a civic education event designed to help residents, advocates, and community members better understand two important Cuyahoga County levies and their impact on the region’s social services safety net.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is preferred, and the link to learn more or sign up is below.

Team Up To Clean Up was a major success on Saturday!

Our Shelter does not thrive without the support of each and every one of you, and this was yet another amazing reminder of how great of a community LMM is lucky enough to be apart of. We can't wait to see you all again next year!

Thank you to all 76 volunteers who braved the rain with us as well, make sure to stay tuned for more photos later this week, and below are some of the amazing projects that were worked on!

Over 2000 square feet painted with 2 coats
Several hundred meals served
Finished framing the wall to new mail room
Cleaned 6 square block radius of neighborhood cleanup
20 haircuts
Washed 5 vehicles
Registered 15 people to vote
6 communal poems
26 fence flowers
35 clay projects
30 projects completed - 5 keychains and 25 necklaces
